Pictures I don't have as they were nothing special....at this point. Still playing with weights to find an exact weight that the barrel likes. I am on that list as well for AOA.

The price of the TJ barrel is very reasonable, personally I wouldn't have an issue buying one and playing with it until the SubMOA comes out. I did have luck with the 27 grain 218 slugs from H&N going just over 900 fps. At 50 they were a large hole in the target, and at a hundred it opened up a bit. Think around 1 MOA or a little larger. With standard slugs this isn't to bad for not having the tune correct. But for hunting small game and such it would be more than enough.

I am working on some heavier slugs now to test as well. And if I can get an off the wall weight to work we can talk if you get a TJ barrel.

One thing I have noticed is that the barrel doesn't dirty as quickly and the slugs seem to run faster than standard barrels.


I would talk to Thammer over on AGN and loon at getting a barrel. I know he is moving or something so it may take a month or two, but it will probably be quicker than the submoa

Ok just got back from shooting. Although it was hot and extremely humid...got some 50 yard and 100 yard shots.

I tested the 29, 29.5, 30, and 30.5 grain slugs. The best was shockingly the 30 grain slugs at 910 fps with an SD of 3fps! At 50 yards I was getting just under thumbnail sized groups. Pushed out to 100 yards and was just under an inch. I had a life sized pigeon and starling set at 100 yards, and they were all to easy to hit. So for me personally able to hit these targets at a 100 yards makes it a winner in my book.

The only other thing would be to play with the hammer spring and the regulator. But with the regulator sitting at 115 bar, and the numbers being what they are.....I may not touch them and just enjoy the rifle.

The rifle again has a 28" TJ barrel, the carbon tension barrel. Everything else is stock and smooth as butter. Getting 3 - 4 mags worth of shots and that is great for hunting.

Is the stock form at 100 yards I wasn't able to get the JSB 18.1 to shoot under an inch and a half. Though the gun did come to me as a 30 cal so the spring was much to strong for it.

I mainly wanted to shoot slugs to go with my Corbin press. I am making slugs for my HM1000x for matches and wanted something for hunting. Being as the HM1000x is around 20lbs it is much to heavy for hunting. The ghost feels lighter and is easier to carry as well.

I'd say it's a success indeed over a stock .22 ghost shooting pellets. Just did some 40-75 Yard shooting with mine & Mrd deeps (my fav pellet) today..... 7/16in @ 50Y a little over 1/2in at 60Y and 1.5inches @ 75Y (but wind had picked up and was coming from behind pushing right....). Do the 30Gr slugs drop pretty good at 100Y @Woogie_man? Also.... only 4 mags at a reg pressure of 115B, that doesn't seem right!? I'm at 150B (600 mm barrel) and get over 5 mags.....hmm.

Yeah there is a bit of drop, but that is what the subtensions in the scope are for.

I always fill at 4 mags on any gun. A habit I have gotten into and just never gotten out of.

Sorry... yes it is a shooter for sure. 1 inch target plates at 100 yards isn't hard at all with the 30 grain slugs.

Have been playing with the weight a little as well as the speeds, but the weight seems good, and now it is just tuning for speed.

I have been shooting at life sized pigeon and starling targets at 100 yards and have no issues hitting them. This is good as I have a permission I found that us SWARMED with these birds. The owner is beyond frustrated with them, so I should be able to get some hunting pictures in a week or two as well.

I would have no problems telling people to grab one of these barrels! I have also been bugging AOA to get my hands on one of the Sub-MOA barrels as well. Would like to test them both to see what they do.

With the 30 cal obviously you can get higher speeds. And that got me to thinking about mine was a 30 originally, and now a 22. So the passages should be larger and I SHOULD be able to get higher speeds?

So I am planning on the range this weekend just to see what speeds I cam get. Planning on getting a baseline with the current slug, and then just do a spring change and see what happens. Would LOVE to shoot 40grain slugs, as I am talking with Corbin about getting their newer dies.

Mmm no the internals on any ghost HP .22, .25, and .30 is the exact same. You just get a bigger hammer spring, mag, different probe & barrel. On AGN some dude posted an epic-ly short video on his doing 1000fps with the 40gr so it is possible with the longer barrel. Aim Small on YT hit the Brk max fpe in .22 (i believe it was 63fpe?) sending 33gr beasts over 900fps with a reg of 190bar! I'd imagine you can get close to that anyways. 120fpe is easily achieved with the 30cal 28in slug barrel.

One of the main .22 slug barrel testers on an airgunning FB I'm on ( 100% only joined for Ghost slug barrel info) was waxing poetic about his Ghost and its accuracy at long range with slugs. Then he bailed on Daystate/Brk completely and shoots a beastly Mora now(which evidently has a HUGE plenum). His main complaint?....just not enough power to send the big slugs. My goal remains to send 25-34gr slugs for starlings inside 125y and the ghost will do that with power to spare. I did some deeeep diving way back and I believe the Ghosts plenum is around 40cc and possibly the limiting factor

Shooting Mrd deeps till i get my slug barrel , more than likely going with the Brk....Mine from Factory was 165Bar H.W 15 and I found the sweet spot for accuracy was 975fps, excellent accuracy and flat shooting inside 75Y.
Now i have dropped it to 150B, and H.W. 13 and I'm getting same power level with better shots per fill of course. Barrel polished twice now and Mrds get lightly lubed before shooting. If it shoots slugs well I may very well sell the pellet barrel and never buy an Mrd again

Yeah I do like this TJ barrel, but like I mentioned before it is fun to tune and play with things. I do obviously still have the stock barrel, and I may go back to that to see what the difference is between the two barrels for the same ammo and tune.

Thinking about it.... the other thing that I can do is use my external regulator. Set the rifle regulator at max and use the external regulator to set the limit and then shoot. MUCH easier than trying to constantly adjust the rifle regulator
