Ok went to Rio for their 75 and 100 yard Bench Rest today.

Here is my 75 yard card, taking 1st.

Between cards I continued to tune the rifle.....I had about a 20 FPS ES which I know isn't good.

Here is my 100 yard card with the sighter blocks in the middle. Took 1st again. This time I had an ES of 8 and the rifle sounded "Happier"

487 out of 500 with 14 X's. There is no 'Plugging to 30" at the local match, so a true score for the 22 cal.

Have been playing with things and can get the same grouping at 50 yards as well as some a little better at 100 yards. So I went ahead and ordered two different 11mm to picatinny rails to use on the ghost for the thermal. Hoping to bring down the scope height a bit and will see what happens. Waiting for the other rail to come in and I will do some testing.

But honestly at this point I am happy and going to have to wait until spring to get outside and shoot. The indoor range is nice, but the venting and air circulation causes issues with my 22lr, so I have no doubt that the groups at 100 yards will be better outside.

Oddly enough im hunting around for low rings for mine too Getting the Helix Gen2 in FFP for it hopefully too which is lower (turrets are more compact) shorter, better glass, and the low rings. I dont care about weight, but I'd like it a bit less tall.

Take a look at these to bring the scope down a bit. I have the bridge one currently and it fits fine on the rifle. And is just about half the height of the stock mount.



Yeah it has been nice for a few days, though the wind will not go away! I haven't been able to go ice fishing yet this year and I am loosing time sadly.........Don't want it to get to warm to quick!

Will be heading to Texas on a hunt in a few days. I tuned the slug barrel to shoot the Zan 33 grain hollow points right at 940 FPS. They don't group as well as the Altaros, but way cheaper to hunt with. When I say they don't group as well, if the altaros group was a nickel, the Zans were a Quarter.

I have the Zulus Gen 1 all dialed in on it for the night time pesting....Can't wait to see how it/we do this weekend.

You loose your 20 moa of angle though.

Meh ..... have an eagle vision adjustable mount I can use if needed. With the original mount the thermal is extremely elevated.

Yeah you could go with adjustable rings as well if needed. But with the higher end scopes the 20moa really isn't needed. Unless you are shooting out past 500 yards or so, we really won't see the need

Some quick pictures of the rifle as currently set up. There has been a hot flash though the area so my yard is a bit of a swamp. The rail is the smaller of the two and honestly it lines up the scope much better than the stock rail. I am waiting on a lower one, that should make it easier to use with the Eagle Vision mount.

Got a number for your scope to barrel bore height? I am keeping my factory rail for that Moa, but still hunting around for low rings... Every little bit helps, on a pesting rig! Nice setup so far
I am in the process of ordering a slug barrel for myself. Called dealer and emailed BRK directly. Tried using their barrel ordering form online... its still messed up....I did manage to email it out on my computer, on my phone it would just crash after I entered in all the details

The boys had a great time with the ghost and the slug barrel in Texas at night. The Zan 33's schwacked racoon's, Skunks, and a few other pests at night past 150 yards on some of them. Now it is back home and ready to go back to the Altaro's slug gun for competition...

Excellent to hear, my slug barrel is on order and I am beyond excited! May be a month or two I was told as its coming with the next big Brk shipment to my dealer. I believe it will excel with 25-34gr slugs. I really want to keep my shot count to 40+ and a reg floating around 150.
What spring are most of you ghost folks using with your current slug tune guys?

I am using the heaviest spring currently. I still have the black sprint I can swap to. But i don't feel the need with the way things are going now.

Hoping for some warm weather soon, being as swim season is done I can get back to shooting.

And we got another inch of snow.... and 40-50 mph winds! I just can't catch a break with this rifle. It is about like life doesn't want me to enjoy the rifle! lol

Still working on getting comfortable with the rifle, though honestly I am still WAY more comfortable with a more traditional rifle. Keep going back and reading about the Fx King.....even though I really don't like anything Fx
