Alpha/Delta Wolf Nobody wants .30 cal Daystate?

That is what I am thinking. Cost too high compare to .22 to shoot 30 Cal as a precision target gun.
Agreed as at least for me the 25 calibers I have are expensive enough shooting JSB 25.39s at thirty bucks a tin for 350. I have one decent 22 cal PCP which is a Stoeger XM1 Scout I use for target shooting and it loves the Crossman domes or hollow points which are about ten bucks per 500 and that's been my target shooting gun and bird pester around the property. It would only shoot quarter size groups at twenty five yards which is unacceptable so I tried spraying them with a bottle of Gamo speed oil I've had for years and the groups immediately tightened up to dime size for a full ten round magazine which is perfect for me! Gamo quit making it so I'll try Balistol on the next batch to see if it works as well. I still have a 30 cal but I only use it for hunting. Thirty bucks for 150 shots is crazy!

cant speak for everyone but i never ever even look at daystar gun because u hve zero intrest in electronic guns
not sure if thats whats for sell but i just never look at daystate
i think if it was a BRK it would be gone.
I can see good and bad in both electronic and mechanical firing system. The ease of tinkering with the tuning settings makes the Daystate attractive to me. Part of the fun in this hobby.

It seems the Daystate used .30 cal guns are not selling. I see the used Alpha Wolf, Delta Wolf, and Red Wolf in .30 cal on AoA have been sitting there for a while not moving. No love for .30 cal Daystates?
I bet the cost of ammo is one reason, also very few shooters need that much power in an airgun… So they sit until the person comes along who is specifically looking for a .30 airgun. Its not about the brand, its about the caliber… If I can’t kill it with my .22 PCP, I let it be or reach for the proper firearm…

You guys need to learn how to shop and when to buy. I wouldn't be buying any at $30 for 150. Today, I just ordered 500 slugs from rmr, for $70 shipped, 14 cents a round. I will only buy pellets in bulk and with free shipping and they are even less. More lead, more power, costs more, but is not out of line for it's increase or added fun factor.

I agree mostly with what's been said minus ammo cost.... Bigger ammo will of course cost more money to shoot, something you should of course consider when buying. The problem mostly is the electronics. Most people going for a pcp will already be preparing themselves mentally for possible leaks down the road. I for example own 2 pcps and 2 springers, if one goes down I have the others. Now with an electronic pcp you have 3 (yes 3!) problems, air leaks, Electronics konking, and battery life. After the cost and hassle you could just buy a crazy accurate 22LR (same FPE) for say $1200 and a .22 cheaper pcp/Springer for say $500 to deal with problems, plinking, etc. Lastly my .22 Ghost (while being still very expensive) has not met anything yet it couldnt bring down with an MRD. Have taken 3 birds @75, 80, and 98 Yards with it, All pass throughs, all 1 shot kills. It should be absolutely fine with coons, ground hogs, etc to 50Y. In fact it's generally too much power and I default to using my S510 more around the property. I would love a .30cal barrel, but no thanks on a .30 cal electric!!

.30 Daystate barrels have a good reputation. I think it is probably more the .30 cal ammo. It costs more to shoot for ammo, costs a lot of air, and has a lot of power.

The rifle I want is a .30, but I don’t like the idea of expensive ammo. I like shooting several hundred rounds at a time, and that gets expensive in 30.

I’m going to throw out a couple of scenarios just my .02

1. An individual who has lost their rights. Some states like Florida allow for hunting (Deer) with an Airgun as long as certain conditions are met.

1a. Rights have been restored, return to PBs sell Airguns.

2. A novelty purchase, or alcohol induced buy.

2a. Had your fun and sold it back.

2b. Didn’t like, want or mistake.

3. Underestimated it’s power or upgrade to larger caliber as laws or needs change.

Very important to note here that if anyone has an interest in one of these Airguns especially if they have been sitting on it for a long while, my understanding is that they will probably make you a good deal.

Heck find out what the resell value is and think of the difference as a rental fee. 🤷‍♂️

You forgot one very real scenario! 🤭(Happened to me with my Fancy a$$ Snap on electronic Torque wrench) Cost me $600 I believe back then, they are more $ now! Scenario 4: Mull it over, bought it, electronics broke, had it fixed and traded it for a mechanical gun. That's what I did with my wrench. Dealer fixed it under warranty after 11 months of use and gave it back. I said KEEP IT! Got full value and traded for a standard click style torque wrench. Was it cool? Heck yes! Was is excessive? Also yes. Ps I babied that thing!🙄 A gun, no matter the cost or original intent is still a tool/weapon at the end of the day, maybe even a self defense weapon. It may put food on the table, cull pests, bring home trophies, lower stress, keep the homestead safe, etc. An electronic gun is not (and never will be) the best choice. Buyers remorse plain and simple.

The thing with thirty though is it’s getting ridiculous. Prices on airguns and ammo for them is going too far and their going to price them out of existence and we’ll be back to 20 fpe 177 and 30 fpe 22. When 1000 pellets cost $150 or more and 1000 22 lr which are lead brass and powder are $100 / 1000 what is going on?

I’m not a fan of electronics in any rifle. Had 2 red wolves had to send first back for repair, it has been good since, the second I returned that 1 wouldn’t keep 22 mrds on 8-1/2 x11 @ 100 yds. Couldn’t put up with that that’s how I got 2 ghosts!

During Spring through Fall I go through at least one tin of .22 CPHPs per week. No way I could plink as much if it were .30 caliber. Whether a .30 PCP is mechanical or electric has zero impact on ammo costs.
Very true but the discussion is why are these used electronic .30s not moving? I look up the gauntlet .30 and others and it's often sold out (in Canada) meanwhile the delta wolf is constantly on sale. There is a reason for that and ammo cost is not the problem. I guarantee more mechanical .30s are out on the hunting/pesting scene than electronic guns. The first DW's had electrical issues (Daystate stood behind it and repaired as req) They make Excellent bench guns (toys) but I need my airguns to do more than that. The new Skout Evo slug gun interests the crap outta me. But not until they delete the electronics. I believe it will perform up there with the Red Pandas and FX guns when it comes out for long range accuracy. This is why the Ghost is so popular. Every single person who looked at the DW or AW and said I'd buy that if it lost the electronics and was a bit cheaper! ...probably ended up buying the Ghost when it came out. I also have no buyers remorse with my 👻😍
