That is what I am thinking. Cost too high compare to .22 to shoot 30 Cal as a precision target gun.Honestly I don't see the cost of shooting one .. the guns the air , the pellets/slugs . It's not like I'm going to go shoot it all day like I do my hw and only have $8 invested in a tin of pellets ..lol , come on man.
Agreed as at least for me the 25 calibers I have are expensive enough shooting JSB 25.39s at thirty bucks a tin for 350. I have one decent 22 cal PCP which is a Stoeger XM1 Scout I use for target shooting and it loves the Crossman domes or hollow points which are about ten bucks per 500 and that's been my target shooting gun and bird pester around the property. It would only shoot quarter size groups at twenty five yards which is unacceptable so I tried spraying them with a bottle of Gamo speed oil I've had for years and the groups immediately tightened up to dime size for a full ten round magazine which is perfect for me! Gamo quit making it so I'll try Balistol on the next batch to see if it works as well. I still have a 30 cal but I only use it for hunting. Thirty bucks for 150 shots is crazy! That is what I am thinking. Cost too high compare to .22 to shoot 30 Cal as a precision target gun.
I can see good and bad in both electronic and mechanical firing system. The ease of tinkering with the tuning settings makes the Daystate attractive to me. Part of the fun in this hobby.cant speak for everyone but i never ever even look at daystar gun because u hve zero intrest in electronic guns
not sure if thats whats for sell but i just never look at daystate
i think if it was a BRK it would be gone.
I bet the cost of ammo is one reason, also very few shooters need that much power in an airgun… So they sit until the person comes along who is specifically looking for a .30 airgun. Its not about the brand, its about the caliber… If I can’t kill it with my .22 PCP, I let it be or reach for the proper firearm…It seems the Daystate used .30 cal guns are not selling. I see the used Alpha Wolf, Delta Wolf, and Red Wolf in .30 cal on AoA have been sitting there for a while not moving. No love for .30 cal Daystates?
You forgot one very real scenario!I’m going to throw out a couple of scenarios just my .02
1. An individual who has lost their rights. Some states like Florida allow for hunting (Deer) with an Airgun as long as certain conditions are met.
1a. Rights have been restored, return to PBs sell Airguns.
2. A novelty purchase, or alcohol induced buy.
2a. Had your fun and sold it back.
2b. Didn’t like, want or mistake.
3. Underestimated it’s power or upgrade to larger caliber as laws or needs change.
Very important to note here that if anyone has an interest in one of these Airguns especially if they have been sitting on it for a long while, my understanding is that they will probably make you a good deal.
Heck find out what the resell value is and think of the difference as a rental fee.![]()
Very true but the discussion is why are these used electronic .30s not moving? I look up the gauntlet .30 and others and it's often sold out (in Canada) meanwhile the delta wolf is constantly on sale. There is a reason for that and ammo cost is not the problem. I guarantee more mechanical .30s are out on the hunting/pesting scene than electronic guns. The first DW's had electrical issues (Daystate stood behind it and repaired as req) They make Excellent bench guns (toys) but I need my airguns to do more than that. The new Skout Evo slug gun interests the crap outta me. But not until they delete the electronics. I believe it will perform up there with the Red Pandas and FX guns when it comes out for long range accuracy. This is why the Ghost is so popular. Every single person who looked at the DW or AW and said I'd buy that if it lost the electronics and was a bit cheaper! ...probably ended up buying the Ghost when it came out. I also have no buyers remorse with myDuring Spring through Fall I go through at least one tin of .22 CPHPs per week. No way I could plink as much if it were .30 caliber. Whether a .30 PCP is mechanical or electric has zero impact on ammo costs.
