My omega seems to be well built sealed bearings-on crankshaft but bottom of con rod is blue and i really don't think they heat treated the rod
As a L1 Master tech ,owning my own Gas Station / Automotive repair / & MA State Inspection . I've seen it all. Things are not built to last. P.M is key to longevity. I am a 1 man show. MY LOVELY WIFE IS THE BOSS!!!!!!!!!!!

I’ve only had two compressors. Both GX, the first one lasted just outside of the warranty. But in all fairness, I was abusing it.
I finaly broke down & sprung for & Alkin, vertical 220volt. I new it was going to pay for itself in do time .I fill 2 tanks without a hickup. I also knew I was going to do this Hobby / sport for a long time coming. I purchased the compressor from Aydin himself, with auto/shut off like he suggested for safety. IT came on a pallet dropped shipped, completely wrapped. BIG BOY GIFT to myself!!!!!!

I think that I will also enjoy this hobby for years to come and have given more than just a passing thought to a quality compressor. But it’s likely that I will be looking out for a used one.

After a few failures of compressors, it's the worst feeling, of not being able to shoot ones rig. Panic mode sets in . LOL. That's how addicting I T is!!!! For myself I thought I was flushing money away. Now I plug in my Alkin& fill my tanks like once a month, & I am good to go. I have to Buds in 2 different states they both have Alkins. When I told them I had a Air venturi , their response was ,YOU don't have an ALKIN, You have to get one. I then looked into them , & I said to myself (GOOD LORD ) this thing is expensive. So I saved & saved & saved some more . Bang I got myself & ALKIN. I never looked back. It is truly amazing. I still have the original box, it came with. So after cool down I cover it up like the Lambo it is. I purchased it straight from Alkin, from Aydin himself. I still remember it like it was yesterday. Back in the day, I didn't have all the options like todays world LOL. Might be showing some age, but then again Wisdom comes into play. Been their done that!

I don't know, I have been thinking about replacing my YH for a long time, but it doesn't quit and fills really fast. I said to myself that I'll get something else that's quieter, when the YH quits next time but I think now it's going to outlast me. The unit was bought in 2018 and I had to replace a failed cylinder head in Oct '21, and it has never had a proplem since then. The compressor that I had planned to get was the Omega Air Charger because SouthernGunner used to use one and he filled mega bottles with his for years, with status updates every year on its progress. I still might get one yet.

If its not broken , don't fix it, Just PM & good to go

It's true, but my ears are kind of broken from noise, and I need to wear earplugs, but they are cheap.

It all comes mostly down to value, to me. I have maybe $1K total spent, on three compressors in the past 8 years, where one is still in the box(new), and one barely gets used, and the primary has become immortal. I have kind of boxed myself in to a spot that isn't ideal, but it works out well enough to go along with for the time being. I'm really looking for a super small/portable, and quiet (Shoebox quiet), compressor anyway, that can fill 9L bottles w/o cooling down electronic tricks, and I don't know of any actually, and certainly none that I would spend money on, yet. And I'm always looking. The market could use a Shoebox style, slow fill, dead simple, replacement.

I've been using my Shoebox F10 for 7 years. Only problem was 1 I created. It blew a fuse when I tried to restart it without out venting the pressure first. Other than keeping it lubed it just keeps going. I haven't even changed an Orange. I just hook it up and start it and go do other things. It does take awhile to fill my 45 min scba tanks but having 2 I just use the other one. I got it when Tom was going out of business. He couldn't compete with the chicom compressors for price. It does require a shop compressor as the first stage.
