Ghost Any word on 👻slug barrel?

Well im shelving this project for a bit as i can still out shoot my slug barrel with my pellet barrel! I have to get ready for upcoming hp ft matches so i must dial the gun for pellets.

That's a trend I've seen as well. Last count was around 40 barrels that I've tried slugs out of, most of them .22s but some .177s and .20s in the mix. And in only two instances has a slug/barrel combo been better than pellets.

Even the blasted .22 MRDs with their cursed flyers....I've got 4 barrels on hand right now that'll all do 10 shot groups that hover around 1.75-2.25" at 100yards....even that's better than the typical 100yard group from slugs from 98% of the slugs/barrels I've tested.

Whaaaaaaat I thought it was shooting good for you?! This is why I'm willing to spend the coin on Daystates barrel when it comes out. 🤭 Well all the best with pellets! Mrds I imagine? Do try the Zan 25gr as well. I have only grouped them once with my Ghost and they did slightly better than Mrds but also had one wierd flyer 😬

25 cal. I can shoot the 33.9 jsb into 3/8” and smaller @ 50 and am shooting 1”-1 1/2” groups at 100 even with a bit of wind. Can’t do it with the slugs

So where are the barrels then :D

Now that I have my rifle I am going down this hole as well ...... and I see that it is extremely DEEP!
Right?!?! Welcome to the "Where the Heck are the Slug barrels for my Ghost group" ...(which has been out for 2yrs already)😣 I bought the 👻 bc I wanted an M3 minus the overcomplicated design and excessive amount of o-rings and I figured this would compete nicely. Out of ALL the .22 ammo in the world, all mine shoots well in current set up is Mrds. Silly thing is .22 slugs are actually same cost or cheaper than Mrds often!?! I figured Sub Moa barrel situation would make Daystate/Brk hurry it up alittle bit...

Are the Ghost barrels the same as the RedWolf and similar barrels? If so there are more people making barrels for them, and that may work for these?

Or you could always do the Fx thing and make an adapter to take their liners.

Yeeessss!!! 😍😍😍😍I nearly fell outta my chair🍻 28inch slugger in .22 is on the menu!! The max energy rating is a bit odd? I mean I'd be more than happy with 75ftlbs and realistically would send 25 to 30gr slugs around 900-950 for less but I wouldn't think the barrel isnt the fpe weak link per se, more the guns internals, tune, or ammo choice? These are gonna sell like hot cakes

With all this pent up anticipation I sure hope these "slug barrels" do better with slugs than all of my slug testing over the years has shown....

Not related to the new "slug barrels" but a barrel that shoots slugs as well as pellets has been EXCEEDINGLY rare in my experience. I spent a lot of money chasing small bore slug accuracy (.177, .20, .22). Choked, unchoked, poly rifling, 12 groove, twist rates from 1:16 up to 1:36, CZ, TJ, LW. In all that's thousands of dollars worth of experimenting, I can count on two fingers the combinations of slugs/barrels that shot as well as pellets and were worth pursuing.

I hope it works out as everyone desires.

There's no throw up emoji response so I'll add that here....😌🤢🤮🤮 The liner system is a weak link, let's not add that system to our Ghosts😆 To @Franklink...I know Solo1 and Soren are getting great accuracy out of their .177 slug barrels. To be clear I won't be rushing out the day they are out but a few months after....that's how I roll, been waiting since April and I'd love one in my hands by Next April, I shall await the first impressions, reviews, etc. I took my Ghost out to 100Y finnaalllyyyy last week. I was actually impressed to be honest with a 3.5in group with Mrd deeps and 1 3/8in group at 70Y. But let's be real who wouldn't prefer a 2inch group @ 100Y. @Soren Drost would the kit also come with the shroud you think?

Agreed I HATE the Fx system.... but you can't deny that it works.

After how many years have you guys been waiting on a slug barrel.......that would be easy to make I would think.

It's a bit of a catch-22 I suppose. Tons of people want slug guns and Daystate/Brk really doesn't have any excellent options. Some are OK with slugs but designed for pellets they are. So they make some barrels (L.W.) and have folks (like Soren) test the crap outta them in the real world, for decently lengthy trial periods. The findings are shared with the company and some is shared with the community. While we wait impatiently, Daystate & Brk wants/needs these barrels done right and don't want to be a laughing stock (trust me if these barrels are Junk the airgunning world will laugh) This needs to be a hit (lol) and they know it. On that note we the consumers, while being impatient also really want our money to go towards a product that works. Other Genious entrepreneurs (Sub-moa barrels) see the huge gaps in the quickly growing hobby and begin to fill some of that in. And the starlings perched on the tree line 125Y from my property start to sweat alot more.😁 Exciting stuff, now get that .30 cal barrel shooting sweet!

I agreed, some expect to go after Coyotes in the evening using slugs, then in the morning with the same gun and barrel shoot chipmunks with lighter pellets???😂🙈🙄 The simplest solution “horses for courses” a dedicated slug gun and a pellet gun… Getting into airguns to chase .22 rimfire ballistic and energy level? Simply a non starter for me. I would just pull the CZ452 or Ruger 10/22 out the safe and have at it.

two guns is where i want to be.
I cant see one tool doing the two jobs and doing both well.

Absolutely. I think we all mostly agree with @Luis Leon ! When I dream slug barrel I'm thinking: precision, longer range (better BC), and thereby more retained energy, and of course small targets. No way I want to even come close to rimfire in the power department. It CAN be done but lol I don't want a 98cu ft tank and beast compressor just so I can shoot for an afternoon. Soren says the 28in barrel is shooting pellets exceptionally well...I will probably sell my stock .22 barrel if that is true. My vision: 👻 will get a 580cc bottle, 28in barrel and shoot just under 60fpe at the muzzle, and be fed slugs and fat pellets only. Would I put it up against said rimfires @100Y and talk sh!t? I'd like to think...yes!😍 But only bc it's as accurate, not as powerful per se.
