Blackwolf The Daystate Blackwolf platform has arrived

Information overload. Not just with the Blackwolf but so many new airguns are coming out, I find myself trying to keep up. I'm also trying to figure out what purpose any of them would have that my current guns don't do already.
That's not a bad place to be! I'm loving the BlackWolf news (too much coin for me, but wickedly cool!!) and all the info but I'm plenty happy with it's older cousin, the Ghost....We'll see what the next few years bring😏
I was watching some shooting show news and it's a big rifle, compared to the folks holding it.
Next up is people actually shooting it, groups, specs, etc. 😍

No need to “keep up” just simply enjoy what you have… The Blackwolf simply represents the latest in mechanical perfection in a PCP is all. Those that can afford to own and play with them? Am looking forward to their assessments. It really is a gorgeous platform…

do like I do and grab a jar stuff a few dollars in here and there and before you know you can get what ever you want.
I was saving for a new gun but grabbed an Atomic for the wife so I am starting over LOL

One thing you can't deny, Daystate knows how to make an airgun par excellence. The Blackwolf covers every feature I've ever wanted in an air rifle. Light, I'm sure accurate, rifle not bullpup, available reasonably short, typical Daystate trigger, which is super, a good looker, with a bottle, 45 fpe in the short version is plenty for me, and anyone wanting more can go for the 73 fpe version.

If I were to design an air rifle, this would be it, no stone unturned.

But, alas, I have great air rifles indeed, and can't find myself spending that much for an air rifle. If money was no object, i'd have one, or two for sure. Maybe I'll do what I usually do, wait til everyone who can't resist,, and are selling their Ghosts, or other "last years" model and be completely content. I really can't see anyting outshooting my Sniper HR or my Crown, so it's just the luxury thing that draws me to the wolf.

I agree Bob. I was ready to purchase another Ghost when this was introduced. I changed my mind for all the reasons that you mentioned. I'll add that this rifle seems to produce more power per barrel length than other Daystate rifles. I opted to wait for the TAC chassis variant with a 17" barrel, and a cylinder. It is a good time to be an airgunner. I don't see myself selling my Ghost, but one never knows.

thats to much for me but the one oi was look at was the 17" barrel and it shows it to be 7.5 lbs
but even with the 17" barrel its longer then I would want to that around. by the time a mod gets dropped on its well north of 40"
honestly I love my EVOL .30 but I seldom use in the woods or pest patrol because of the length its grate for popping tree rats at some distance but its to long for my liking for that too I almost only use it for punching paper.

It is a nice looking rifle with a lot of great features and I’m 99% there. But, unless I’m mistaken (very possible) I don’t see any podium's at any big matches with this rifle. There have been at least three major long distance bench rest events since its release and no one seems to be shooting the Black Wolf. It’s obviously very capable, so why don’t I see any of the sponsored shooters using them. It’s an honest question, not a gotcha question. I would’ve thought some of the Wolf pack or Centercut shooters would be shooting them. Maybe I’m just unaware of who is shooting them. Seems like a powerhouse though.

I think people were having too hard a time getting happy with them and stucck with what they were shooting cause what they were shooting shot well.

I think you partially answered your own question, too new of a platform yet, too much power (as-is) for anything but 30cal in my opinion and I whole heartedly DONT believe its more accurate than a good Redwolf, Ghost, Revere, etc. Tack on the ridiculous cost and the fact one could upgrade any other airgun (bigger plenum, tension the oe L.W. barrel, or slap in a SubMoa barrel, etc) with similar accuracy results or better. Its only a matter of time before one does claim a victory i believe but its not bc its a more accurate gun overall.
Quality/BC of ammo, wind the day of the competition, how well you know your gun/scope, and wether you won the barrel lottery matters far more than which airgun is in hand before taking the shot.
The Blackwolf is not yet for sale in Canada as of right now....take the USD cost of $3600 (Laminate 23" version) and switch to Canadian dollars your North of $5100, plus tax and a good scope/rings you are talking $6500 easily....NO airgun is worth that! OK, rant over😅

Except that the Red Panda scored a first place by a shooter with no previous experience with it,
