How does a higher regulator pressure contribute to wasted air when shooting? Isnt it all about adjusting the hammerspring so that the valve only stays open enough to get the velocity you are looking for?

Well if your shooting at a 40 fpe level your using more air than you would use at a 30 fpe level ya know? If hes shooting 25’s @900 and only wants to shoot 18’s @900 instead of 1000 to him thats wasting air. I’m at a loss at this whole 190 bar thing. My 22 is 145 bar and my 177 is 150

I have not shot it much. What pellets have you found to be the most accurate?

True, I didn’t interpret his comment that way, but more along the lines that higher regulator pressure wastes air.

@tec I think some people equate higher air pressure than necessary ( 900 @ 130 bar or 900 @ 140 bar ) as wasting air why use more pressure than needed? But i understand there are thoughts that go the other way. Im no engineer so i really don’t know for sure especially when you throw in different valving. I do know i can get higher speed at lower pressure with a fx over my ghost. Why exactly my guess is the valving. You know apparently the specifics i would suggest you watch steve’s video from aeac about how he tunes especially the new avenge x. You might find it interesting

Thanks, will do. Since I hand pump and dont let it go below 200 bar, I look at the higher reg/plenum pressure as reducing the amount if air needed to achieve a specific velocity.

Its so accurate I was tempted to put a bipod on it but couldn’t get myself to “damage” the wood. If only it had a matching walnut cheek riser…

I have these on the Revere so there is no need to drill into the nice stocks. They work great for the little bench work we do

The wife and I were talking to a friend last night and she said the Revere was named after Paul Revere and the model released on the 4th of July.....so I had to take a look into this...

Interesting fact: Paul Revere was an American Revolution hero who, as legend goes, went to warn the Revolutionaries with 'The British are coming! ' Quite cheeky of Daystate to name their latest Huntsman after Revere, as America is one of their biggest markets.

Remember chuckling at the irony of a British company naming their product after an American Revolutionary War hero. Guess after 240+ years, they can laugh about it too

Kind of off topic but since we are talking about Reveres and history then some of you may be interested in checking out Revere's Riders

Our local Sportsman Club used to hold Appleseed Project events twice a year but have since replaced those with events by Revere’s Riders. Both are similar organizations teaching basic rifle skills along with American Revolution History. It’s well worth taking the 2 day course no matter what your skill level is and I guarantee you will learn something.

The revere will ride again, this morning, at the Crusty Critter FT shoot in a few hours....I think the wife is the smart one and staying in bed nice and warm...32 degrees should be the temp when we get started today.

I did some backyard shooting the other day...34F...halfway through my fingers were dropping pellets...
What pellet are you using for this and what velocity? Do you weight sort? Head size sort?

Well I came in 3rd today…A revere took 1st (43 out of 48) 2nd place was a RedWolf (41 out of 48) and I had 40 out of 48…..We had 4 reveres there today.

It was so COLD, at start time , 34 with winds from 0 to 9mph…..ranging side wheels were coming off because of the cold…...At sight in everybody’s pellets were hitting waaaaaay low and the wind kept switching….

The evil match dictator, I mean director, had no targets closer than 20 yards and all targets were at the expert level…..11/4 inch KZ at 53 yards, 1/2 KZ at 21 yards…..just to name a few.

It was a very fun course, but cold…..Did I tell you it was cold

I believe ya, sounds like the British pcps ruled the day! So cold weather drops you point of impact usually? Good to know, I was shooting my tx200 during holidays and loading .177 pellets was getting veeeery hard near the end with semi frozen fingers. I had sighted it in with a few different mid weight pellets dead on at 30 yards a few weeks prior. Well it was 3 inches or so low on the target again.....hmmm I clicked up but maybe I shouldn't have.

With all other things being equal; the ~33F plenum air vs the ~70F plenum air, having less energy will generate lower velocities…
One of the advantages of having an adj plenum regulator and hammer spring preload…
