Ghost Ghost qualified for PAC Finals

Yep, my bone stock Ghost 30 just qualified for the finals tomorrow. I’m just a Joe average shooter and this is my first 100Y match I’ve ever shot. It was a fun day today and I’m looking forward to tomorrow.

Thanks. I practiced diligently for several weeks prior and tried 44 & 50 JSBs and 56 Zans. There was no question that this barrel preferred the 50s even though I spent a lot of time tuning the 44 and 56 pellets. Reg is now set at ~140 bar, HS on 11 = 880 FPS and then I bumped it up to 12 during practice yesterday and the groups tightened up so I left it there. I bought the gun from Derrick Wall and he tuned it to shoot 50’s @885 but when I got it the 50’s were well into the mid 900s. It has since settled down after a few thousand pellets and it seems I am back to about the same speed as what Derrick tuned it for.

We had predominantly L to R winds yesterday and I just checked the forecast and the winds have switched to R-L today, arrrggghhh. Just another warm welcome to Ohio's ever changing weather.

Congrats. I wouldn’t say “bone stock” since I know Derrick does a trigger job on all the Ghost he sells to get it to break much more cleanly and lightly than the “ok” trigger on the stock gun. Hope you do well with it in the Finals!

@Centercut is right. My bad. Derrick did a trigger job. The match is over and I might have a solid last place finish but won’t know the results until tonight. No excuses. I just didn’t shoot well and made a lot of missed 4”-6” R-L wind calls. For some reason I shoot better in L-R winds? Wind was 180* opposite direction from yesterday. It was a great experience for my first 100Y match.

I heard the guy next to me say that he thought he shot a 236? That would be a great score. I don’t think I broke 200.

You did great for your first 100Y BR event. If the guy next to you actually did shoot 236, that’s almost certainly the winner.

Thanks Mike. I didn’t see all the final scores but I think I had a 190-ish? The guy next to me got 2nd. I think he had a 234 and Thane Simmons won with maybe a 235?

Looks like that new Karma Red Panda is really good in light conditions. Plus Thayne is as good as it gets. What kinda gun was 2nd place shooting?
