Tell Me Why I Need Gunzilla?

I see a lot of people use/prefer Gunzilla. It seems a pain to purchase as no local retailer stocks it and is mainly available directly from the manufacturer. It also seems kind of pricey. But, if its merits warrant the wait/cost I’m more than willing to do it. I’m just curious as to what the benefits are over Ballistol? I’ve thought about getting some to try as a lubricant for slugs. The only downside I see is the smell of Ballistol and that’s not too bad.

Gunzilla on Amazon is coming from the manufacturer and with shipping is $$28.90 with shipping plus tax for 8oz. Compared to $21.99 that I paid for a 16oz can of Ballistol from Pryamyd and I spent enough that there was no shipping. Compared to the cost of ammo the price isn’t a huge factor for me , but Ballistol is definitely cheaper.

I've used just about every solvent known to man in the last 45 years. CLP's included. You probably already own what you need, especially if it's for an airgun. Montana Extreme has marketed some good things for copper in the last ten years, but other than that I'd buy pellets. I guess I just told you why you don't need it.

I'm a Gunzilla fan.

I find it works really well to minimize fouling when pushing up into the 950-950+ range.
I also find it works really well to remove lead from barrels that are prone to leading.

It's part of my recipe for a number of my high performing gun/projectile combos....my .20 Ghost and the NSA slugs that I've posted so extensively about? Gunzilla on the slugs. My Veteran Long with the 1:32 LW poly barrel that I also comment on frequently? Gunzilla on the MRDs. The .22 Grands from the Ghost that is about as good as I've got for 100 yard pellet benchrest? Gunzilla on the Grands.

If you decide to experiment with it, don't lube up a bunch of projectiles that aren't gonna be shot soon. The carrier gasses off or something, and you're left with a white waxy/messy residue. It's fine for a week or two, but a month or two and you'll want to throw out the mess rather than run them through a barrel.

Ive been working from the same 8oz bottle for 4-5 years and I bet about 1/3 of it is left still. It doesn't seem to have any issues staying a liquid in the manufacturers bottle.

Good info thanks. I probably would have done a bunch all at one time. I’m going to give it a try. Lubing was the main thing I’m interested in.
