Whats your favorite moderator? Ill be honest im not well versed in moderators as the guns I usually buy are shrouded. 99% of them if never thought needed any extra sound suppression as I dont need silent but quiet is nice.

Im looking for something a little bigger than my Heartlands whisper Pro which is great for its size, my RAW Mini just is loud! Plan on using it on my Skout when I get it as it should work better on that platform being a lower power. It does better than my Pugio does on the RAW for sure.

Another problem is my Pugio doesnt quite fit without coming in contact with the tank. Its 40mm or 1.575" diameter. The Heartland is 1.37" and fits fine.

Huggett Snipe is on my list which would be the max length at 6.75" and 1.25" diameter. I know huggetts are very hard to beat. I've seen alot of people using the Impulse Air mods but I know nothing about them. DonnyFLs always done pretty good but I think the only size I can use is the Koi?

As of now all the rifles in my safe have factory shrouds that work well enough on their own to negate any thoughts of adding a moderator- so my two cents are a bit dated 🥴

Had a Koi that worked pretty good, but a 0db compact unit was a little better on the same rifle. Mind you, it was a ~19 fpe .177, so didn't require a ton of moderation to begin with.

I have several Moderators. And I mostly run the Odb, which works great. I just purchased the Anti-Venom from AOA, and now those have been working really well, and the price is not bad either. The other one I have is the Sonus, which you can purchase from Idaho Air Guns.

I like the idea of the impulse moderators nicely made a proper but I havent have the chance to try one
you might want to read up on them?

I really like the Huggett Snipe. It's up there with the Huma Mod.30 moderators - if you can find the older one with the haircurler and felt setup - not the newer Avalanch.

I like the 0db, but I think Huggett has a small edge on them.

The STO mods are really good on unshrouded rifles which are very loud. But it sounds like that will not fit your platform.

The Impulse Air moderators are really good. They excel in setups with no shroud and work better on higher power setups that push a lot of air. I use one on my unshrouded Huben GK1 shot 40 fpe in .25 and it brings the sound down to a low thunk.

OK, to my ear, I would have to say that the IA1350 was a little bit better at noise reduction. There was a little bit less reflected echo noise and I still hit my 100y target perfectly so no poi shift either. Is it worth $100 extra? That's a tough call because it is bigger too, so consider that too if money is tight.

The approx. weight/length/diameter of the IA1350 5.2oz 5.2" 1.35" ; and the 0dB 110c 3.5oz. 4.6" 1.26"

Something else to consider is that you can drop segments on the IA to tune with if necessary.

I forgot about 0db. I just looked at them and they are quite expensive also. At least the 160 versions. Lol I didnt realize alot of the popular moderators are north of $200. I mean if they are worth it i get it.

The Huggett Snipe still seems to be standing out to me. I owned a Huggett years ago and it did well. Honestly id probably prefer a Falx as I do like my Pugio but just won't fit i dont think. Unless I could get a washer to sit in between the Falx and the adapter. Ill need to measure how much.

Those IA 1350 do seem nice. Im not sure i like the segmented look compared to a smooth mod though.

Haven't heard of the Anti Venoms or the Sonus mods. More to look into im sure.

However sounds like ill be getting to test a prototype moderator........

Well since I will be testing a new protoype in the near future potentially, I wanted something to compare.

So I ordered a Falx high flow and some of their clocking shims. I think i only need about 1.25mm space to make it fit without touching. Ill have enough shims for up to 2mm so should be good. And $154 delivered so pretty good price wise also

I have a Falx (high flow) on my 250z. The rifle loves that suppressor and it's very quiet!

I only have two moderators right now — the DonnyFL Ronin and the Yokozuna — but running them on 300 FPE PCPs puts me in a very different category than most setups here.

On the Ronin, I added a layer of acoustic foam inside and it did make a noticeable difference in tone and back‑pressure control. It’s a solid can, but on high‑power rigs it still has limits just because of the sheer volume of air being dumped.

The Yokozuna is the one I keep coming back to. It’s slimmer, fully baffled, and I like that you can take it apart to tune it or adjust the length to match the rifle’s needs. For big‑bore/high‑flow guns, that modularity matters a lot more than it does on lower‑power PCPs.

So for my use case — big air dump, 300+ FPE — the Yokozuna edges out the Ronin. Different power levels really do change what “quiet” means.

Where did you order it from?
