I have a Sniper .22 unregulated that I purchased used (new old stock) from AoA. If I remember correctly I paid very close to $600 for it.

I have been very happy with it, it is to me a great platform for hunting, pesting and carving pumpkins lol.

I found that Huma makes an aftermarket regulator bottle kit for the older unregulated Snipers for $160 at AoA so I picked one up to find out if I can make this already great Airgun even a little better.

I’ll update this thread as I start tuning it.

Before regulator pic and after.

Was it mostly just a bolt on kit @FL22, you say new stock so old one probably didn't have a cutout for reg gauge? Looking good to me!
I still badly want the slug shooting AF Condor but yeah its obviously unregulated (talks have fired 🔥back up with my dealer). I live the PCP high life (2 British, regulated pcps with zero leaks so far) and am not sure i can live with unregulated 🤪
If i get this, in the end I will probably mod the crap outta it lol. But I think that's a fun part of it, some guns you buy and just shoot (S510) others you slap some bolt-ons and tinker (Ghost), and others you mod heavily and it may well spend half its life apart. Let us know some before and after shot data, power changes....all the details!🤩

Yes sir, super easy thread on installation. The kit came with everything that I needed, however I would recommend replacing the bottle O-ring if it has been a while.

Because my Sniper is a newer unregulated version, the normal regulator gauge location is for appearances only.

I moved the BRK gauge to the port on the kit for bottle pressure and the Huma will now read Reg pressure.

Because it’s factory unregulated, I’m starting with the hammer at minimum. The Huma reg came preset at 130 bar. The rifle does pretty good with BSDs so that seems like a good starting point.

The Plenum that is included with the kit is 40 cc so whatever else is in the block and it is not hollow.

Here is some unregulated crono data 24.52 ft lbs

Nice upgrade for your rig brother! I've got the Brocock Bantam bolt action sniper and it shoots great but could always use an upgrade! I need to look into this reg setup with plenum for mine as well. Already got installed the Best Fittings UK valve and cf bottle. I'll call AOA tomorrow to see if its feasible, the only thing i really miss on this rifle is this one has no side lever cocking. I've got the Carm mags also which work much better instead of the hard to find version it came with.

I’m pretty sure that I saw info on the Compatto at Huma.

Yes sir, on the regulator kit. I fill the Sniper to 195 bar.

No problem, since you have a .22 as well and making similar upgrades I would like to see your crono numbers while tuning for comparison.

What ammo are you using?
My chrono got left out in the rain and it quit working but im using a hair dryer now to try to get it going! Im shooting the JTS Dead Center 22 18.3 pellets and man is it shooting great. Shooting on the high setting and last time i chronod it i was getting about 845 fps. Has the lothar walther barrel and this thing is still amazing!

When my regulator for the bottle version gets here, what's a good starting reg pressure to be at? On this setup im unsure.

I’m gonna provide links to everything that I used to start with.

Since you’re using a heavier pellet, I would probably go 150bar to start it comes preset at 130 so turn it counterclockwise 20 minutes and then clockwise five the marker is difficult to see but if you hold the regulator assembly it’s self before you install it, hold at 12 o’clock make the adjustment and you should be close.

Just remember to turn your hammer spring all the way out flush due to it being a heavier spring because the Airgun was originally unregulated so it was needed to hold the valve open longer.

These links and your instructions give me the utmost confidence installing and adjusting the regulator when it gets here. Thanks brother!
