I put on a new long picatinny rail today. I had to cut off a 2" forward extention it had and I also cut off about a 1/4" off of the back dovetail rail on the gun. I could not stand the look of the extended point that thing had, I'm not big on what's left but it probably does provide some protection.

I think it looks a lot better.
Check out the guage. Somehow water got in there when it was blowing bubbles out. I kept turning that guage until the bubbles stopped and I really was certain that I was going to break or strip something. Amazingly, about a 3/4 of a turn further than I thought I should be at, it did stop leaking but I noticed the moisture in the guage. If it holds air, I will live with it.
I also shortened my bolt handle a little and now it fits and functions like it is supposed to. I tested my trigger pull, just out of curiousity, because I don't think it's that bad, but it does have a longer first stage than I like. It tested at two pounds but feels lighter than that. I'm going to leave it be for now.
The new pic rail does not have any moa rise like the last one one did but I had my laser on the bottom and I just went outside and matched dots. All sighted in, that was easy. Even the cheapest of lasers (this one is $7) can be such time savers.
I am going to paint this gun soon, but besides that I think it is ready for some ballistic trials. I am going to try the oring thing and see how flat I can get 5 shot strings at 850fps avg, and how flat I can get a 10 shot string at 830fps avg., I don't want to shoot below 830fps. If anybody has any advice on what type and size of o-ring to use I'd appreciate it.
