Others Dressing Up My TalonP

Billm, another way you can mount a dispenser is if you use thick enough stock of aluminum to cover the trigger group area, then you can countersink a bolt sticking out from the inside, like I did on my TalonP for a picatinny rail in front of my trigger guard. Plenty of realestate to play with. Check out my latest on my thread to see what I'm talking about. It looks pretty awesome too, even if you don't want to use it for anything.

@Pumacarl I’ll take a look at your solution. Last week I made a dovetail mount that allows it to be mounted on top like you suggested or on the side with the same mount. It was a great learning experience, now I know how to design and print 11mm dovetail attachments.

Nice to have options but I honestly think that where you had it in post #16 looked better. I guess the big consideration is where it's easier/faster to use.

There’s a screw hole in the backplate and so it would be easy to mount it on the newer TaonP trigger guard with a threaded insert/bracket or a tapped hole on your modified trigger guard

How do you like how your dispenser does its job? Are you still trying different things, or is that your final version? Looking back at your first post in this thread, I think I might make something similar since I have such a clear flat side to use now. I would put only 5 spots, really spaced out, so I could use all of my fingers to pluck out a pellet. I like your magnet idea. I could inset some small rare earth magnets into the aluminum and then I could just slam anything that I come up with to the side. The wheels are turning. lol

Unless I start hunting again, I really don’t need a dispenser lol. But, it gave me a goal. It’s more fun trying to find a solution to a need than just trying to come up with a random project. Although I may try and sell a few things in the future to help pay for my hobbies, right now it’s just about keeping myself occupied doing something fun. If I had a machine center I’d be attempting to make an improved TalonP clone lol. What dimensions would your pellet holder be?

It will basically look just like yours but only 4" long and just 5 spots. I will glue magnets of opposite polarity to it and the ones I put into the aluminum, so it will really stick on there.

Thanks! I will let you know. I am going to prototype a little first, to see what actually works, as far as placement and spacing. I have to test the strength of the magnets too. I am still waiting on a pic rail and haven't painted yet, so it will be a while, as that would be the last thing I do.

I keep telling myself that I don’t like shooting my TalonP. So I forced myself to top it up and shoot it today. I’d already been shooting the Sonoran. So I decided to just leave the target stand at 50 yards. The last time I shot it was at 25yds with mkii’s. This time it was with EKH 33.95gr. I fired it once at the top center BR bull. It hit dead on windage wise, but about 18” low. Four more pellets and a few scope adjustments and it was hitting dead center. I shot a small 3 shot group and then decided to shoot a group for accuracy at a clean bull. It was practically pellet on pellet at 50 yds, until the @Pumacarl jinxed moderator departed for greener pastures. He did call it ugly, RIP, it won’t be resurrected lol. . But even with that the last pellet hit less than an inch away. Keep in mind this is a .25 pistol at 50yds. The only thing I don’t like is the short shot count. But, with the new GX compressor, even that’s not a hassle. Unfortunately it’s too loud for my ears until I put another moderator on it. It’s actually a very impressive compact gun.

Too funny Bill, just telling you how it is, or rather was, in this case!

The accuracy, I know right, I shot tethered a while back with just a 3x scope at 50y and shot under an inch groups, no flyers either, with JSB MKII! The barrels in these guns are awesome. I definitely wouldn't want to shoot it without any suppressor though, even an ugly one.

Nice shooting! I have been following @Airshootist and his extensive .25 Condor build/modding. He has quite a decent Reg and Plenum kit from Huben. If wanting more shots, I'd definitely look into some of those parts for your Talon? Airforce won't do it so Huben stepped up to the plate.

I’m running out of time for more projects lol

The pellets have a cover, shown below the trigger guard. There’s just not much real estate for storage on the gun. I made a 1/2-20 adapter and used a full size moderator at first. But then I thought I’d try a drop down, direct fit moderator that would keep the gun short and provide a flat area for pellet storage. But, I ended up removing the pellet storage. I looked at making a ‘PEZ” style pellet dispenser. I think the pistol grip would make a good storage area. I did a grip cap/ plug that holds an extra dust cap and the fill probe for the 250z. I also think that it should be easy to make a pellet dispenser similar to a rotary magazine.
Bill, if you decide to make an extra, and wanna sell it, let me know, lol 😆

Working one next concept. Already have another one after this one lol (folder). I need to play with this one first. It Clamps to the TalonP bottle. Switched from Carbon tubes to aluminum tubes. The top female dovetail is for an adjustable cheek piece.

I just need to add some thumbscrews etc. it came out pretty good. I might extend the cheek piece a little. I do like this one better. Got rid of the dovetail as it made it too high. Had to go with carbon rods again for now.

Yeah, Bill, should you get the hankering to make another one, remember me, let me know how much, lol! That looks hecka lot better than the one offered by anyone else, including AF.

I broke down, bought one made for paintball gun tank. Ain't happy with it. It fits, but, it sure ain't close to that one. I mean, beats trying to put the tank bottom to your shoulder, but it's still short, and ugly.
