HAM Sniper
First thoughts on all the rage in the barra community. Pause. Hard pause. Investigate. Mine, came pressurized. Okay, odd, but okay. Hammer spring, sunk so deep, cocking back could not engage the seer. Holy hell no. Took me a minute or two to solve that equation.
Barra: 270z
Pros: wood stock- absolutely beautiful.
TUNE FRIENDLY! EXTERNALLY ADJUSTABLE H.S. EXTERNALLY ADJUSTABLE REG! That is huge!
2 piece h.s. similar to the v2 250z. Mine came with the butter larger of the two, flush with action, and the inner, flush with outter. No, nope, hell no, waaaaay too much spring tension.
I heavily suspect for maximum versatility like the 250 v2 z this will 100%require a cur spring and brass slug weight for a slug tune.
Pellet tune will require in my opinion, a cut spring, minimum, to experience true 12 fpe tunes. I.E. Dialed down. Squirrels don5 need 1100 fps with a 22g pellet at 20 yards Barra.
A pesters thought, a super comfortable shouldering "hunt/pesting" styled pcp, that had waaaaaaaaay to much of a flex on the power potential from Barra.
Overall, my opinion, Barra nailed the beauty mark on a Air over barrel pcp, but, Barra fumbled the ball on its best capability. Power is NOT always the solution.
If you want a beautiful pcp, that is going to require significantly more modification from stock, to match the variance of scenarios, for over 100 dollars more, the 270z, is your pcp.
If you want a broat variety, that requires 1 day in between for set up depending on pest target(setting reg and h.s.) and nothing more, the barra 250z is your choice.
So thankful I own 2 250z's prior to purchasing the 270z.
270z, long distance hunter, 250z long, mid, short range hunter, easily modified to be more capable than the 270z.
