If it wasn’t for what I do for work I wouldn’t be able to just go hunting. When I’m working near places I know I can hunt , shoot, whatever involves pellets flying I take advantage of. Also I work for family that understands trigger therapy so 3 hour lunches are ok… is carving out the time to actually “hunt”. So if I’m lucky to be out for a few hours of pesting? That in itself is the success, bagging the critters is the sweetner… Having the time to go pesting? Gotta go to work…
When I first moved up from the city 26 years ago I was hot to trot for hunting woodchucks… And got a few permissions and distinctly remember the farmers and farmhands asking incredulously, “you have time to shoot woodchucks?”…![]()
Yeah. I can’t do this on weekends. I can do field target maybe once a month but I don’t want to take time away from family so lunch time hunts work out.A range finder and a ballistic solution, was what I was thinking when I originally read the topic, but having time is a huge one too.

they can and given the chance will rain down destructionAbout half the time it’s my wife telling me “Honey, they’re getting too close to the house again.” We live on several acres. It’s like Squirrel Palooza most of the time. She has come to realize that they are no longer cute when they’ve chewed on your electrical wiring.
