Gee thanks...... LOL Another airgun to resist an impulse purchase on. Thankfully I'm tapped out from the holidays and need to rebuild the expendable income fund for a while. It's nice to see they put a 1:16 barrel on for slugs. Excited to see some reports from users.

I started the day out today with 10f windchill and so I cleaned the barrel on the Sonoran. I had no plans to shoot it today as the winds are gusting to over 20mph. But, I decided to try an experiment just for the fun of it. I loaded a magazine with four AEA 50.5gr and four 45gr pellets and shot them at the steel plate using the same point of aim. It took me less than 3 minutes. I had a left to right crosswind. I think I marked the groups correctly, it’s hard to tell. Shot #4 of the group may belong to the other group. The vertical impact did not change much between the pellets considering there’s a 30fps difference. The right drift with the lighter pellets was as expected. Time to start practicing the elusive wind reading skills. I’m starting to think the two #4s should be switched.

Nice! Time for a new pressure gauge!?

AOA has me on a list for a warranty replacement. Apparently the gauges can’t handle the increase to 300 bar and fail after approximately 3 fills. I’m thinking about replacing it with a digital gauge. I can’t see the analog gauge anyway lol.

Have you found any 23mm digital gauges? I think that is the size one the Sonoran

Thanks. It’s funny you should say that. I was researching Thomas airguns today and it took me to his Airgun page. He was discussing that none benchrest shooters don’t realize that wind reading and correction is the real skill/challenge that makes BR competitive. I have to admit I always believed BR shooting was about reloading skills.

Reading the wind is the critical thing to know.

I stated 170 bar, but as you can see by the gauge, that was only for the first shot and then it settles to 165 bar.

You can't fit two digital gauges as the smallest I've found is the 25mm Sekhmet. I am using that on the regulator gauge and then I needed a small gauge so I used a spare AGT one and they fit and go to 300bar for the tank.

How do you like the Monster Mags? How close is it to the cocking lever when closed?

Sonoran Monster Airguns Magazine for the BRK Sonoran

I'm not a review writing kind of person, but credit where credit is due.

I purchased a Monster Airguns magazine for my BRK Sonoran from @Montster but it was a Black Wolf version of the magazine (same magazine when you go OEM) and Mont reached out to let me know that Black Wolf version wouldn't clear the port adjuster. Sadly I had him cancel my order. He said he'd reach out when he finished tweaking a version for the Sonoran with @Pesty3782. To my surprise I received a sample magazine from Mont late last week before the snowstorm hit. I thought that was a very generous offer...

Decided to p,ay with slugs again. Raised the regulator to 180 bar and swaged some lighter HP slugs.

I started at 47gr, now I’m up to 51.2gr. . Not going very well so far.

I had to back up to 70 yards, the wind was havoc. The most. I could push a 51.2 slug to at 185 bar was 872fps. I did get some really small 3 shot groups at 101yds and then I’d always get a 4-8” flyer or two. I wasn’t sure how much the wind was affecting it. I walked away and came back and tried 70yds. I got more consistent groups. But it was getting dark. Several groups all aiming at the lower right hit. I swaged and shot almost 300 slugs today. Averaged 85fpe. I shot different weights from 47gr - 52.2gr..
