it took no torque at all. Lesson learned. I guess right now I have two choices: cannibalize the Ghost, or shoot the Ghost. I think I’ll shoot the Ghost. I’m considering converting the Ghost to a 50yd bench gun.

Learned my lesson on tightening one of my digital gauges too tightly! I just hand-tighten now

@Pumacarl This story, is becoming a real anti-climax lol. I was going to video me removing the broken gauge. I figured either the ez out or I would cut a slot and unscrew it, in that order. Uh, I pulled on the gauge face and twisted the gauge spring and it spun right out with very few turns. It took 5 seconds or less. Sigh of relief lol.

Well, you used up all of your luck with that for a while, be really really careful with everything else for a while! lol

The Sonoran .30 has been out of commission for about a week. I degassed it and when I tried to refill it, there was a leak around the gauges or so I thought. I slightly tightened the regulator gauge and it sheared off at the stem. I ordered new gauges, but still had a leak from under the reg gauge. The supplied o-rings leaked. I refused to pay $40 for 3 Dowty washers and ground shipping. Instead I found an assortment that had 50 of the 1/8 bsp washers plus a bunch of sizes I’ll never need for $27 with overnight shipping included. Gauges are good now. But, it was still leaking. The leak was at the small hole next to the gauges. I thought that was an additional leak, but now I believe it was the main leak. I removed the regulator and inspected the two outer body o-rings and added a touch of silicone grease to them and reassembled and did a pressure test. It leaked immediately. I removed the regulator again, but this time I removed the piston. It was immediately noticeable that the end o-ring was shredded. The o-ring kits are not in stock at AOA. A little research and I found the correct size but couldn’t find them stocked anywhere. I did find 10 packs of them on Amazon, but with a 7-14 day delivery. I had a bunch of o-rings that were within .1mm and so I gave one of these o-rings a try. These o-rings prevent the air venting out of the regulator atmospheric equalization port. I filled it to 100 bar and so far no leaks. I’m not really sure why the o-ring was in such poor shape, it was ragged and flattened. I never lower the reg under pressure and I’ve never had the regulator out before. I will replace all of the o-rings in the regulator once I get them. Big shout out to @Sub 12 airgunners and his excellent video on the Huma regulator disassembly, which includes o-ring data.

I don’t usually use my safeties on airguns. I shoot mostly from a bench in my own yard and keep my muzzle pointed down range. I don’t know why, but I decided to test the safety on the Sonoran today. To my surprise it doesn’t function. I tried adjusting the grub screw, but it doesn’t come into contact with anything. I’ve never had the trigger apart. It’s hard to tell from the parts break down, but it looks like the grub screw should contact a pin or bar.

When I purchased my Sniper one of the first things I did was adjust the trigger following sub 12airgunners vid, I found that the grub screw for the safety was about to fall out.

I haven’t checked the horizontal screw. The one to the left of that, where you can only see about two threads, screws all the way through until it falls out the other end.

I’m really avoiding taking the trigger cassette apart, but may have to.
