Ghost Plus or HP Ghost in .22?

On my 22 carbine I run the small ODB…on my30 cal I run the large 0DB.

If you’re interested, try a moderator designed and made by Old Spook. Nice quality, really pays attention to detail and they are accurate. I’ve been working with him since early 2022 as a pseudo, consulting Engineer, plus doing thousands of rounds testing of prototype moderators. And for the quality, the prices are incredibly reasonable.

How do you find Old Spook?

You won't be disappointed, remember to clean the barrel real good, I had to run 15+ patches through mine to
get rid of the factory gunk. one of my favorite tunes is 140 bar, power wheel10, JSB-18.13, Lip smackin good.
Also get a chronograph to fine tune for different grain size pellets. Best of luck with your new toy.

Thanks for the tip! Yep, looking at Vortex and SWFA for optics-I like to have multi function optics and not just airgun specific if you know what I mean. Dang, and I sold my caldwell chrono a couple of years ago! Been eyeing the garmin product.

I just purchased a Ghose .22 HP, it arrived 12/30/24. I am still trying various pellets, but so far it seems to shoot FX JSB Hades Monster 25.39gr well with the factory spring/tune. (The heavier pellets came in late and I have not been able to shoot very many of them due to my compressor dying)

Shooting FX Atomic 15.9gr and JSB Hades 15.39gr pellets with the factory tune.
Reg = 160 BAR
PW = Min
FPS = 1080

I got 135 shots from 250 BAR to 160 BAR, I am using a 0db160s (.25 cal) moderator and when shooting the other day my cousin was walking over and was commenting on the fact that the sound of the pellet hitting the wood backing of my target was louder than the actual shot. (He also shoots an FX Wildcat Mk3 BT and he has been commenting on being impressed with the efficiency of the Ghost for the shot counts that I am getting)

I am still playing with it, I have a Hammer Spring Kit, but my compressor died and I am waiting on a replacement before I can continue shooting.

These are some of the videos that helped making my decision to go with a Ghost instead of the FX Impact/Wildcat Mk3 BT that I was originally looking at.

It is still early days, but so far I am loving my Ghost and am looking forward to changing out the hammer spring and working on a lower FPE more Shot count tune.

I haven't ordered the hammer spring kit for my plus. When I order the .177 barrel I might as it would allow me to lower the power on the .177. Curious if anyone is using the CARM magazines?

For me it would without a doubt be the hp. Rather have the power and not need it than lack it when it might be needed. I have the delta wolf in .25 and at 43-44 fpe it’s really quiet un moderated so I would think the .22 would even be quieter. You can also tune down the hp a lot. You might have to put a softer hammer spring in but that is easy.

Yup same here. Wanted an impact M3 just didn't want 60ish o-rings...plus the solid 1 piece block sold me. 135 shots.....that is a ton more than I'm getting on HW 15 shooting Mrds @975. They are your best ammo choice with the HP for sure, everything else will be way too fast.

ay too fast.

If I didn't already have a RAW in .30 I think I would have considered the HP version. I needed something in .22 that wasn't as loud and wouldn't draw as much attention. Moving to an HOA area that oddly enough allows you to shoot pellet guns on your property-they also have an airgun range on it too. I also w
I put this scope on my ghost .22 plus and love it

Sidewinder 30 FFP 6-24x56

I'll get a better scope or take one off one of my other air rifles, but I just ordered a "Westhunter" 6-24X50 FFP and some mounts off of ebay. For the price paid, I'll take a gamble-they had a coupon and it was only $127. Got a set of their cantilever mounts too that were also inexpensive. Heck, thought I'd try it and see.

I have a few of these Westhunter Optics mounted on a couple of my rifles. They have been working great and have clear glass. You can't go wrong especially for the price!
