Pleasurable Plinking ... finally!

Yeah, I plink alone, yeah with nobody else, you know when I plink alone, I prefer to plink by myself… Sung to the tune… “I Drink Alone”

My solution to hearing the lead sing a song is the pound rebar of the ground little higher than waist high, putting acetylene tank top on top of it spray paint it white back off to whatever distance I feel like and plank away. No doubt when you hit it, it makes a nice solid plan and sound. Found the acetylene tops online. The first time I was looking for them and later on found a tank supply company that sold it for 450 apiece. I could shoot on them 24 hours a day seven days a week for the next 300 years and wouldn’t damage them lol

Anybody having a challenge getting a good cheek weld after the winter? Now that I don’t have to wear a heavier coat, getting the rifle butt in the right place is a slow “relearn”. I know it’ll be ok soon, just wondering if it’s a common problem. Can’t say I noticed it much before, but now I’m more focused on my form than before. Stay well all👍😉

It's definitely nice to take off the heavy coat and get a proper cheek weld. I find it much easier now that spring has sprung and can ditch the heavy gear.

not practical with most of what we shoot furniture wise any way but I have seen on older wood stocks where coins where inlaid into the stock and a marker to get a repeatable weld.
the inlay doesnt have to be in a specific prefix spot because learn where it is its just a marker so you know where you need to feel it.

After receiving my Reximex RPA.177 pistol, I’ve had a ton of fun sitting at the bench single loading it with a multitude of pellets and seeing what I am capable of at 10 meters. Shooting with open sights is somehow therapeutic. Not being able to zoom in on a POI keeps the mind clear. Not being able to see my pulse beat in the glass of my scope. Not seeing that I’m not perfectly level. The simplicity of the open sights and still printing very very respectable groups. And then shoot standing like a proper pistol should be. It’s been a lot of fun lately. The Rex is not particularly fussy at 10 meters or 11 yards for us Imperial shooters. ADF367ED-57BE-4B12-9EE8-B4A36BF26F59.webpIMG_2902.webp

I can do this all day...lol wake up, get a cup of coffee and head downstairs for a hour almost daily. After a good 100 or so shots, maybe More I can safely start my day. Fun thread, but I love to shoot with others in small conpetive environments whenever I can.

Anytime we can shoot is a plus right? Makes the day seem better no matter what! Nothing like it.
