Benchrest Online Benchrest Competition Rules

This thread will be for discussing the rules of our online benchrest competition. Right now there are no rules. My experience from organizing and running regional RC car racing tells me that rules are a double edged sword. If we start with too many rules we will deter inexperienced competitors from trying it out. The flip side is that without rules, a lot of more experienced shooters will be deterred. I suggest we keep it simple, make sure their system concept is fun and works and then hopefully let it grow from there. I’m hoping we can attract some new shooters to the awesome HAM community. Try not to follow my bad example of polluting the thread with other topics.

After seeing duckhunters card i think the way he posted scoring by eye and writing it in the little box was good i only disagreed with 1 x. I think we need to add in and outside and general weather cond and if flags were used.

I’d like to try and make the ELEY system work if possible. It allows manual correction. I’d feel bad asking people to buy the targets, without even trying to make it work. But, I’m open for anything.

Yea if you can help us getting it working smoothly fine but i think the other way is good enough for a friendly comp

is there any other scoring apps that can function for this purpose?

I believe you have to have that type of target for the camera to work. I am open to score either way. But have noticed that the Eyle system for scoring is not always correct.

Are we going to open this up to .25 and .30 caliber? I think at Fifty yards we keep it to .22 caliber

It only works with their targets, because of the calibration marks.

@Billm something else to consider is dropping 25&30 cal or were going to need plugs cause that wouldn’t be fair to 22&25.
