Greetings, I'm new to air gunning. My little brother had a Benjamin Marauder Tactical .25 that he wasn't using and asked if I wanted it. I said heck yes! So, he shipped it to me. I got it about a month ago. Came with a tool kit, pellets and a scope. Since then I've jumped in the rabbit hole. I've bought a compressor, Chronograph, more pellets, made a back stop, got a gun case, and purchase a used Remington Tactical xp express .177 springer.
The Remington was used, but from the looks it had never been fired. Came with a scope that was loose. I got it sighted in pretty close. Had five shots with in 3/4" . I used the chorono on it and it was punching at 950 fps. My M-rod does 850.
I made a back stop from a tote filled with rubber mulch. Cut a square opening out of the top. Cardboard in behind it. I cover it with a plastic bag when I'm not using it. From my back deck to the backstop is 63' or just over 20 yards.
There is a shooting range about 30 miles from where I live in Indiana. Even though it's firearm range, I asked if I could use my air guns. They said yes. Asked if I could bring my compressor and they said that there was power available on the range. They have targets from 10 yards to 720 yards. Plus archery indoor and out door.
I'm looking to modifying the M-rod soon. Right now, I'm just getting used to the guns and trying to soak up everything I can about this new hobby.
