My name is Cecil and I bought a 22 caliber Air Arms TX200 10 years ago and couldn't shoot it worth a hoot, so after about 6-8 months I gave up. It sat there in the closet for the last 9 1/2 years. About 3 months ago I figured that I had spent too much money on it to let it sit there doing nothing. I decided that I ought to give it another go now that I'm retired and have some time to try and get it together. I'm 76 years old, so I don't want to wait too long to get it done!

I've improved my shooting a ton in the last 3 months but I'm not where I want to be yet. I've been checking out airgun forums and picking up helpful tips. I recently came across this one and I like what I see, so I joined to get another source of information, help and general discussion.

I live on 2 acres and have plenty of room to do my shooting and I shoot almost every day. I joined the local airgun club and that is helping. I shoot with them on Tuesdays, no competition, just practicing and shooting the bull. At this point I only shoot from the bench. I am trying to get good enough to participate in the FT competitions they have regularly.

Welcome and good for you for making the effort. I don't know much about FT, but I know enough about springers and the TX200 to know it is as accurate a springer as you will find.

I have one in .177, which I bought used. I think mine was tuned because the trigger is set very light and there is zero buzz at the shot.

Have you ever shot it over a chronograph to get a baseline performance? What pellets have you tried?

Welcome to the HAMlet, glad to have the company. Don't worry, you probably out shoot me already. As long as we're having fun and learning a thing or two, it'll be alright.
