I’m not going to say it even joking. I know you’re feeling some pain. I hope you get it figured out.

Thanks Bill. So far I haven’t had any of my other Airguns give me a leak that I can’t fix. This one is challenging and frustrating…

I believe that I have figured it out, it’s the threads on the plenum, they are very rough and sharp. I can see where the one reg O-ring is sliced.



Both sides of the tube are rough and have sharp burrs. I feel like I should have noticed this before, but I’m no expert so live and learn .

I don’t know about you noticing them. But, to me it’s a manufacturer issue. You shouldn’t have to spend $4k for a Company to do some QC checks. It seems they should have cleaned those threads up. That’s a heck of a gouge in the o-ring.

make a thin plastic sleeve to go in the shove the thing together and pull the sleeve we do that in hydraulics a lot of time when we have to get past threads.

Check out post #13 when I originally removed the regulator to inspect it it was damaged then as well.

I had just assumed it was an installation error as I have done that myself learning how to install O-rings on the barrels and on regulators of my other Airguns by not applying pressure evenly causing a gouge or cut it in half.


But I whole heartedly agree with you regarding not having to spend a ridiculous sum of money in order to get reasonable quality control.

The way I’m looking at this particular Airgun right now is the fact that I did not pay full price for it so I’m willing to put in the work to make it 100%, it’s a fixer upper with a warranty lol.

I agree with this sentiment but I only want to open it up after the warranty expires otherwise I might void it.

I understand your point of view but I truly believe that shipping a gun puts it in more jeopardy than I ever will; and not only that, but I actually care to do things right. Service centers that use power tools to work on guns make me cringe. It's all about speed. No thanks. If you're sending it to a private tuner that you know then that's a different story. Still, the horrors of shipping...

Great job on the fix! There was a lot of damage on this gun. You should probably try to send Kalibr a link to your threads to let them know. This kind of thing doesn't seem like something that happens with their guns too often, very out of character.

Just be sure that it can comfortably make 80fpe, and can shoot the longer slugs. There is a Katran N 700mm for sale in the AGN classifieds right now. I thought really hard on buying one of those and the guy selling it says it won't take any slugs over 30gr in the magazine. I certainly wouldn't want to hand feed every shot. Man, I am so happy that I didn't have to buy that to find that out. The HP .22s should be able to shoot the 33-43gr slugs, or what's the point?

I am of the opinion, at this point, that if I could only have one gun, it would be a HP .22. I am not shooting as much lately and when I do shoot I don't want in close and boring. The .22 is definately a three tier experience; sub-32fpe, 33-60ish, and 70+, from pellets to slugs. I like my mid-power 250z as a gun, more than my FX, but the performance of the FX ultimately wins.

I will be very interested to see what you decide on getting for a HP .22, there is a lot to consider, that's for sure.

I don't think they need to advertise, neither does Taipan, some companies have all the business they can handle. KalibrGun sells a boatload of airguns to just the middle east alone. I saw that on a video done by @hameditor, I think.
They aren't hypemachines, their guns just work and are meant to be run like they show up. Not a bad thing for most people.
