Omega I own an Omega Air Charger, what is the experience in common with this compressor?

I to have used an Omega AC-1a for about three years now for light duty air compression. It ran just fine till yesterday. I use it to fill my AA S510XS 186cc from about 160cc to 250cc as needed. The fill usually takes just a little more than 70 seconds. My unit is used 3-4 times a month. Total times used 170, amount of running time 3.5 hours total. Yesterday after 5 minutes running I stopped at 240bar as my gage set at 250 bar was not going to be reached. My unit gets the proper grease as needed and I keep the HP output spring with the ball seat clean as required. I did the usual soap water test of all connections 3 times and the pressure gage did not show signs of leaking.
Ok what am I overlooking? Thanks in advance.

I know compressors but I don't know That one. I'd shoot the gun down, hook it back up and see if it stops @ same pressure again. If so it just lost it's set point accuracy? Or do you have a test plug you can put in the line and see if it builds up anything? Or have u tried all that already?

Well I have concluded the testing of my Omega and found that where there are fittings I have air leaks. Why, do not know.
I have disassembled and cleaned all 6 of the fittings and added a little Lock tite 242 where required.
No problem with quick disconnect o rings, all were ok.
Need to let cure 24 hours, so testing tomorrow.
Thanks for all the suggestions.

Mine died after 17 hours just after the warranty ran out. It would have cost me $130 to ship (oneway) and $300 for an overhaul. That’s $560. I wouldn’t touch one with a 10 ft pole.

Thanks for the advice. I would suggest having some Loctite 242 on hand at delivery time to avoid the leak chasing.
Charged up the fill line to 250 bar @ 27 seconds and held pressure oh 10-12 seconds.

There’s Alkin, Bauer, Daystate but these are insanely priced and massive so unless you own a shop it’s not worth it. Omega and GX still seem to be the best one around for the $$
You can buy six Yong Heng compressors for that kind of money. I have one that I've been using for over three years with one hiccup requiring a piston replacement which was easy and cheap to do. The Omega was pretty complex and intimidating when I took the cover off. In addition, I have a brand new one (YH)in the box as a backup. Would I recommend filling large tanks with this? Not really, but you can do it. I generally fill my rifles directly from the YH which takes 2-4 minutes. When I need to fill a tank, I do it in stages just to keep the operating temperature down.

Just a quick question. After 3 years of use I am seeing some of the white grease appear in the pressure relief valve tube atttached to the Filter body. Is the filter body, under the pressure gage, just a coalesing unit with nothing inside?

That appears like oil and water mixed together

Well jps2486 it has been a year and I finally found out that the #130 exhaust valve nut is leaking non stop.
I have removed all the parts and cleaned everything. Yes, grease was coming thru at this part and harding behind the Exhaust valve gasket. This caused the #129 part not to be able to seat completely.
Waiting on parts availability now.

I own an Omega Air Charge, yes the one with the basic functions only and a little bit on the ugly side :) . It would be interesting to me from other owners what their experience is with this piece of Equipment.
Mine sat for 6 months and started right up. Make sure the water is circulating before starting the pump. If it isn't, pull the return hose and apply some vacume to suck the air out. These are very quiet which is a requirement where I live. Only problem is an occasional burst disc. I hear these are ez to rebuild yourself when the time comes.

Well the saga of parts needed are being sent from AOA today. Thosse guys really care about their customers.
Should know if all is well in another week.
