Need a little advice. Trying to help a nubie friend with his decision to purchase a GX CS4 series compressor.
The web has a few places to purchase from. Have tried to find a way to ask this question. No direct luck yet.
He does not want a GX CS4-I compressor (this has the inverter installed in the case.)
He does not want the GX CS4 compressor with the inverter that maybe attached at will.
He wants a GX CS4 without the included inverter, to save money.
Anybody suggest what the part number would be?
Any reseller that might have this item in stock?
Thanks in advance.

If you're in the US, I believe GX is now their own sole US distributor so all things GX will have to go through them. Like @PasadenaMike said, I doubt they'll sell the CS4 sans invertor but it doesn't hurt to ask!

As best I can tell, the only GX models sold without an inverter are the 18v battery powered versions of the CS2 & CS3.
If he's only filling guns & can live with a couple extra minutes per fill, highly recommend the CS2.

Good deal on the GX website:

GX CS2 Portable PCP Air Compressor for Air Gun Inflatable Rifle Hunting, GX PUMP CS2 Portable PCP Air Compressor, 4500Psi/30Mpa,Oil-Free,Powered by Car 12V DC or Home 110V AC with Adapter (Included), Paintball/Scuba Tank Compressor Pump with Extra Moisture-Oil Separator

If he's going to fill a dive or firefighting SCBA, best to bite the bullet & go CS4.

I'm curious @Centerfire
What is your nubie friend's intention for providing electricity for the compressor?
I ask because it is my understanding that the CS-4 (and others powered by a car battery) don't do very well unless the engine in the car is running.

IMO
The CS-4 with the separate inverter is the best smaller compressor GX makes.
It is light years ahead of the earlier GX versions

I have the one Wolfman (below) suggested and it is going strong 2 1/2 years now. Only good for direct fills to airfuns. I am careful to use it enough to keep seals in good condition. I have not changed any filters but do what I can to prevent water from rusting the internals.

Follow up note to Silent Squirrel; My friend is going to use 110-115 volt house electricity.
To all that have helped, my friend will be back in town next week and is considerating the GX CS4 with the DC inverter if ever needed. Looks like it would be prudent to get the Insurance policy.
It will be used for a tube rifle and a rifle with a bottle.
Thanks again. Centerfire

@Centerfire
Another good insurance measure is an add-on air moisture filter.
The coalescing filter inside the CS-4 works very well, but added protection is always a smart idea.
I imagine you and your friend can hear the cash register ringing as you read this.
But at least look into it
I was using the good old cartridge filters successfully for a while and then upgraded to the newish GX filter
It is far superior to the cotton filled ones
Links to both types below.
And without a doubt (hopefully) other members will chime in with their opinions also

I got the CS4 with the outboard power supply and to me that's the way to go. That way if the power supply fails, no disassembly is required and you are back up in one minute and running. Have him bite the bullet as owning pcp rifles is expensive!

Depends on how much Centerfire’s friend plans to shoot PCPs. The CS2 version keeps my 3 PCPs happy w/o any add on moisture filters and costs less than $300. Mine is insured for 3 years which covers me for 6 more months. I do have many other airguns I actively shoot. This GX is quiet enough to use inside so I avoid outside humidity and temperature condensation.

Well today the new GX PUMP CS4 is scheduled for delivery sometime today. It will be used for a tube rifle and a bottle rifle as required. Will not see sever use, just necessary air from time to time.
Thanks for all the input.
What a great pcp compressor. I got the CS4 that ive had since last November with the outboard power supply. I wanted the outboard 12 volt supply in case of it's failure and i can replace immediately unlike the internal version that's more complex to replace. Fill with distilled water and enjoy!

Well the CS4 arrived yesterday in a very substiantial box, no damage.
My friend brought it over and we added the water and ICE., ran the cooling system till we thought all the bubbles were gone. Performed a couple of line pressure tests and all went well and very quickly. Looks nice so I think he has a good start for his entertainment. He headed home ready to fill the small bottle and the tube rifle. I did check the grease dispenser and it was 1/2 filled and at a slant so I topped off the grease with the proper correct grease recommended.
Thanks for all the information.

Well some good news. My friend is enjoying his GX-CS4 and using it to keep his rifles filled to enjoy.
so far he has fill his rifle 4 times.
But my Omega died the other day at 200 Bar so I decided to purchase a GX-CS4 on my friends advice.
Placed the order and should be here before Christmas. Happy New Year!
