ok. This will be my first compressor, ever. I have no issues working on things. However, what do I need to add in terms of filters and the like?

I purchased another one before the GX was available, but will likely replace it with the GX soon.

If you are going to run a gx cs2 and need a good air dryer this is a good unit. Anything else you get is a cotton filter cartridge or a massive filter that takes 20 minutes to bring to pressure.
