I bought the GX Filter to go with my GX CS4 compressor. Does the filter have a valve that holds back airflow until it reaches certain pressure? It is connected properly but when I turn it on the compressor gauge shows rising pressure but it is not going to tank. To be on the safe side I turned it off and bled off the pressure. There was very little info/instructions with the filter. There must be somekind of pressure valve blocking the flow. If anybody knows the answer please reply to this thread or PM me.

You nailed it- pressure in the filter has to reach ~2000 psi before the output valve opens.
Makes it much more efficient at extracting moisture.

For the 1st time today I filled my air guns from a high pressure tank as opposed to filling directly from compressor. It is very easy and quick. That being said I am still riding the proverbial learning curve of filling the tank from a compressor and appreciate the input from the forums. I wanted to fill the tank with it standing vertical and the rounded bottom tank did not want to cooperate. I remembered an old dog food scoop I used when I had my kennels.I scotched the tank in place with foam rubber pads and it stood straight up.I can't remember all the different things I used that scoop for over the last 10 years. Today it was just sitting on the self with nothing to do so I put it to work.tank holder.webp

Not sure exactly what your thoughts are but i bought 1/4” hi density foam and wrapped my 2 small tanks with it that way I don’t need to worry about them getting dinged up. Got the foam on amazon

This tank is leaking where the regulator screws into the the tank. It is leaking about 1000 PSI in 12 hr period. I have changed the gaskets that came with the tank but it continues to leak. I am right before sending it back to Amazon so if you have any ideas I would like to hear them.

There is no real reason to keep the tank upright when filling. It can actually make it a hazard if it gets knocked over..it can damage the valve potentially if it hits something.
I assume you got this new?? Before you attempted to air it, did you make sure to tighten the valve onto the tank?
Your terminology is a little confusing. The whole thing that threads onto the tank is the valve. You normally have one or two pressure gauges to monitor your air flow, a burst disc in case of over pressure when filling the tank and your fitting for your air line to your gun.
If the valve is leaking from around the neck you are correct to replace the oring, thread the calve back on hand tight and with a large crescent wrench give it a little snug. Not a lot. If it still leaks and it is new send it back….the threads could have something wrong with them.
