The new Air Venturi Nomad Nano HPA Compressor is an example of how the price of filling PCP air rifles is falling. At only $399.99, it’s cheaper, lighter and smaller than previous Air Venturi HPA compressors, while offering similar performance.
Not only has the price steadily fallen, but gone are the days when owning an HPA compressor was practically a second hobby! The need for frequent maintenance and adjustments, together with a shoe box of spare parts “just in case” is now history, as was the need – in some cases – for a separate bucket of cooling water…
With a weight of 15 Lbs and dimensions of 12-Inches long x 9-Inches high x 5.25-Inches wide, the Nano brings HPA compressor portability to new levels.
As with most other compact HPA compressors, the Nano is intended for filling PCP airguns only. It’s not intended to fill large HPA tanks.
Maximum fill pressure is 4,500 PSI and the unit is equipped with an adjustable auto-shutoff. This allows allowing owners to select their desired fill pressure and have the compressor automatically shut off when it reaches that pressure.
The Nano is capable of working from a standard 12V car battery or a standard 110V or 220V outlet.
There’s a fan cooling system and Air Venturi stresses that no routine maintenance is required. The Nano is designed to operate without requiring oil changes or other attention.
It’s supplied with the appropriate power connectors – as we can see below. Also bundled with the compressor is a fill hose with an inline filter assembly. The filter assembly is easily opened and two “cigarette butt-type” filters are installed at one time. Air Venturi says that these should be changed every 2 -to 3 hours of use for best results.
These filters do bring benefits and should be used if you value the internal health of your PCP. In fact, the Nano includes two filters in the inline filter assembly, plus four more. That should take care of any issues for well over 6 hours of run time (which would be a TON of top-up fills).
As can be seen from the photograph below, the Air Venturi Nomad Nano HPA Compressor is also supplied with a “dead head”, an adapter for threaded connectors and a variety of other small parts.
In addition, customers can buy two-, three-, or four-year service contracts, should they wish, when shopping at Pyramyd AIR.
