More ammo testing. First up Mr. Hollowpoint .454, 425 grain hollow point slugs. I'm shooting seated behind my tripod at 50 yards away from my target tethered to my SCBA tank with an external regulator set to 3400 psi.
Entire target. First shot was extremely high, but showed me where to hold.
After the first shot, here’s the next 5 shots shot on high power.
These fit well loading into the breech and micced from .453 to between .453 and .454. I intend to hunt with these if they perform similarly at higher fill pressures.
On a shot following a misfire this one hit the dirt and was recovered. A misfire occurs when you don’t close the bolt completely and the slug travels partially down the barrel without exiting the muzzle. To shoot it out you must cock the bolt again. No breech o-ring pops out like they do in other PCPs. I’ve done this 2-3 times with the Bushpig. I think the misfire only read as 291 fps.
Next I shot some 400 grain spire points from Mr. Hollowpoint. I honestly don't know if these are spire points. The nose looks more pointy than a round nose. What do you all think?
Again I shot from 50 yards tethered at 3400 psi. I think I need to push these from a higher fill pressure.

Another thing that I noticed today. The Fab Defense GL-Core CP adjustable cheek piece feels very comfortable. I am so glad I found this item and for a great price!! The only thing I want to add is a piece of neoprene-like cushion for cold weather. If you are not satisfied with the cheek weld on your stock Bushpig butt stock, purchase a CP. It makes a noticeable difference.

Since owning and shooting the Western Bushpig I have noticed that maintaining a consistently comfortable cheek weld is difficult. A large part of the reason for this is because where I rest my face on the butt stock is flat with no cheek comb. The Bushpig comes with an AR-15 styled Fab Defense GL-Core adjustable butt stock.
