EVOL Evol .30 5000 psi Burst Disk Thread Pitch?

wondering if the crescent shaped indentation is an issue on the mating surface. I don’t know where that came from.

Being that's the sealing surface probably ain't helping . Them coned shaped looks to give less sealing area and that gash may not be " covered" enough .

I look around at them and that sealing area on theses burst disks plugs kinda vairy somewhat .

Like this looks to have some meat so yo say vs that captain oring coned shaped or the factory one that is flatter but not protruding as high

Anyway with that gash i don't know outside of trying to polish it out and try to keep that mating serface flat and even / no hi lo where it seals so to say

I'd buy one from Tom, or where he said to source them from. His burst disks are flat on the bottom. The Captain O-ring is more conical with less sealing surface area, and probably lead to the smashing in of the aluminum creating that crescent dent to begin with.
See post #s 1,3, and 5

Here's a potential remedy, takes a drill, file, sandpaper, and a steady hand. Take a drill and clamp it in a vice or down to a solid bench, chuck that burst disk in it square, run it at high speed and file that brass flat, polish any file marks flat. This will give you the needed surface area to cover that blemish in the hole.

This question may seem redundant, but why should I not plug this up with a bolt? Why is the burst disk needed here? My SCBA tank is rated for a fill pressure of 4500 psi and only stays that way for a fill or two then it’s at a lower pressure. My compressor fills to 4500 psi. Trying to remedy this leaky burst disk area has become a lot more complicated than I’d annticipated and quite an annoyance. I can’t see how letting an airgun sit unused results in this sort of outcome. If the Captain O-ring burst disks (or any other particular replacement burst disks) are not to be used in the AAA Evol, then it should be clearly elucidated in the owners manual, parts list, or advice given from an authorized warranty center or manufacturer.

Another potential remedy for that dented hole is a thin soft plastic nylon washer. They are sold at the hardware store or you can cut it out of something. Even if you try to use a bolt to seal it, you'll still need a nylon sealing surface to crush seal there. So the nylon washer with the burst disk is best.

I guess you could and wing it fingers crossed .

You'd probably still need a soft metal to form the gasket seal like them tips seem to be made of on the disks ( copper , brass , or a blend of something ..that compresses and seals well under high pressure )

So.. aaa did not send you a factory replacement or is that black extra one that ?

@Hateful McNasty No. AOA sent a replacement disk, but said they didn’t sell them IIRC.

@Airgun-hobbyist That nylon washer idea seems like a possible solution. I think @jwrabbit123 suggested that to me last week sometime. It was that or something similar. He also suggested using an o-ring I think. I like the nylon washer idea, but it seems like a temporary fix. How long do you think the nylon would hold up under pressure?

They use a thick white nylon washers to seal the mating surfaces of fill probes and pressure gauges, like on the Yong Heng air compressor. Those particular washers are too thick for this application though.

A milk jug or milk jug cap would be nearly perfect. It only needs a pin hole to allow the burst disk to work.

Now there is a thin plastic Teflon or something cutting board at Walmart .

I think it's in a 3 pac but it's tough stuff and mine seems thin enough to do that washer job ..

I think these are them

if a bolt solves the issue then so should the burst disc?
is the buttom of the hole deformed? i can tell for sure but it looks it in the pic?
you may need somthing the will deform and seal more readily.
i would most likey try making a lead seal to solve the issue useing a highly pure lead or a thin nylon washer as mentioned.

Melt and form up crosman pellets to make the dealing washer🤤

I guess I'd try to make up a hand lapping tool out of a good dowle and use some lapping/grinding/polishing compound and try to buff out that scaring and get back to a more smooth surface to make a positive sealing .

Tough call on what you thinks best . It's not like it's a 300$ china gun ..
