Just received a BRK Sniper XR Magnum in .22 caliber. Mounted a scope on it and started testing pellets at 35 yards with the factory tune (150 bar reg).
It likes the H&N Baracuda Match (21gr) best, producing good, consistent groups. JSB 20gr are close but not quite as consistent. Surprisingly it also seems to like the H&N 23gr slugs, stacking them in a ragged hole.

It absolutely hates Crosman premiers, JSB 18's and H&N 18's. By hate I mean random groups with vertical and horizontal dispersion up to 2 inches in diameter.
I suspected excess air so I reduced the hammer, but no luck there. I then reduced the regulator to 120 bar and adjusted the hammer, no love there either. It almost seems like its over sprung and the hammer adjustment can't go low enough.

Has anyone else encountered similar?
Open to any pointers.

We found a similar spread of accuracy in our HAM test review.
We, too, found H&N Baracuda Match and JSB Jumbo Monsters gave the best groups. This gun definitely likes heavier pellets!

It likes heavier 25.39gr pellets + for match grade accuracy.

I have to say, the more I shoot this thing the more impressed I am with it. I was able to get the H&N 18's to shoot a bit better but it definitely prefers the heavies.

I did find that you could access the hammer spring adjustment with the stock on by removing the small plastic cover between the action and cheek riser. Just 4 small screws and tuning becomes much easier. Suspect I will add magnets to it for easier removal at some point but for now it does the job.
