Thursday 6 August 2026 is the first day for competition at the biggest ever Pyramyd Cup. No less than 240 competitors have registered for the event – that’s the official total confirmed by organizer Emilp Philippi.
Plus, there’s 20 different companies exhibiting with tables in the Vendor Area. There’s new airguns to be seen and – in many cases – shot on the Vendor Demo Range, too.
Vendors present include: Air Venturi, Diana, Leapers, Airmarksman, Hatsan, Umarex, Airforce/RAW, Macavity, Sightron, RX Target Systems, Iconic Outdoor Group, RTI, JTS, FX Airguns, Buck Rail, Vector Optics, Hawke, Predator/JSB and Saber Tactical.

With a list like that, “the Cup” is more than a shoot, it’s also a trade show!
Emily and Match Director Tyler Patner have masterminded the Pyramyd Cup for several years now. They run a very professional and enjoyable event that improves every year.
It’s a major turn-out for Pyramyd Air and Air Venturi employees, too, as there’s a great number of them in action everywhere. They’re setting-up, organizing and ensuring that everything is “just so” for the competitors’ enjoyment.
Like keeping ample supplies of ice-cold water available to keep everyone hydrated in the heat…
Biggest Ever Pyramyd Cup – Day One Benchrest Competition
Yesterday – August 5th – was Registration Day. But the practice ranges were open and fully-occupied with shooters checking-out their equipment and trying to assess how the wind will work out this year.

There’s competitors from all across the USA. I met shooters from the East Coast, West Coast and everywhere in between. Team Puerto Rico was here too, as always…
Today began with Card One of the 100-Yard benchrest competition. Even with the massive range, this still required four separate relays of shooters! It shows the rapidly-increasing level of interest in long-range airgun shooting and competition in the USA – plus the great reputation of the Pyramyd Cup as a “must do” annual event.
Everyone rushes downrange as soon as “Cold Line” is called, looking for their scores…
Then – once the results are posted – there’s great interest in the scores from everyone!
Biggest Ever Pyramyd Cup – Day One Gunslynger Competition
The afternoon was dedicated to speed silhouette shooting – the Pyramyd “Gunslynger” competition.
First to shoot were those 14 brave – or possibly foolhardy? – individuals who dared to compete in the Springer category. Whatever, they all have my profound admiration for their efforts and all clearly had a great time doing so!
Above we see Peykan Beyrami who placed second in this most extreme of competitions.
The action was all too much for Dustin Harding, Athlon Optics Marketing Manager!
They were followed by the PCP shooters, who blazed away in a series of shoot-offs until only the winner remained. Below we see Tom Adams in action. If you have not seen him shoot speed, you’ve really missed out…
Nic Gregoris was the winner of the Gunslyger Springer competition. Yet he was so unfazed that he went forward into the PCP competition too…
We see the youngest Gunslynger competitor below. I didn’t get his name, but he was excited to be shooting and was encouraged and supervised by his Dad!
