Alongside the 100 Yard Benchrest competition, Pyramyd Cup Field Target is the other highlight of the event. Indeed, Field Target was the original core of “The Cup”, going back a number of years.
The FT course here at the Cardinal Shooting Center is almost entirely in the woods. That makes for a beautiful competitive environment.
This event is still continuing as I write this, but we’ll have the full results after they are announced at the banquet this evening.
But what on earth is that red and black FT rig in our heading photo above? Somewhere under the bling, Otis is using a Daystate Alpha Wolf with a Kahles scope and probably the most extreme hamster I have ever seen. WOW!
Just to show the huge variety of equipment used by serious Field Target competitors, below we see this very “vanilla” Thomas in action too…
Then, of course, some shooters prefer to use a springer. Below we see Tony Pellegrino competing with “Norma Jean”, his blond Air Arms TX 200.
While his wife Barbara preferred to field a BRK Ghost (below)…
Then there’s the much-feared obligatory standing lanes, too.
Below, Kevin Sheehan the Vice-President of Sales for Hawke Optics is a keen Field Target competitor. Below we see him with his Air Arms rifle. Kevin takes the traditional approach with his Home Depot bucket seat!
Below, David Slade of Airgunwerks has been competing in Field Target for over 40 years and still loves it! He’s shooting a Steyr, as we can see.
Below, Doug Rogers is the Hard Air Magazine specialist PCP air rifle tester. Below he’s shooting his Weihrauch HW100 in a “forced kneeling” lane.
While there’s another exotic FT rig here below…
Shawn Pragle built this Marauder/Challenger combo himself. He knows what he is doing as he is in charge of the PCP assembly operation at the Bloomfield manufacturing site.
While Ed Schultz – now the President and CEO of the Airgun Sporting Association was competing with a somewhat more “stock” Crosman Challenger (below).
So that’s a look at the Pyramyd Cup Field Target 2025 competition. Everyone was having a great time – as usual at “The Cup”.
