Others Atomic XR… Simply a Smooth Shooter…

Decided to send a few round before going out for dinner with my wife. Took the Atomic out of the safe 15 minutes before we were leaving, hence the only group. Zulus atop with the horseshoe recticle at 25 yards. Simply took the Atomic out of the safe and sent three. Bipod front, no rear rest. These were casually sent as this is not a benchrest gun. It is simply 17 fpe of pure outsize awesomeness. The myriad pest it has taken would testify if they could. It sits at the lower end of the power spectrum in my collection. But is with me until I croak out… for its outsized capabilities…

Nice shooting, been thinking that I would like to add one to my collection!
It is a sweet shooting gun, the lower power is deceiving and if not overscoped? Simply a pleasure to walk about with. 17 pfe has been plenty for me on small pest out to 50 yards. I also own a Pathfinder and Ghost, which are awesome in their own niches. But of the three, the Atomic, for me shoots the gentlest and is deceivingly deadly. And open to opportunities where the other two simply cannot be deployed.

What scope do you have on it there? Recommend it?

It’s a West Hunter 3-12x44 SFIR FFP. It has been a good pesting scope for me out to 100 yards. The IR is daytime bright and is a big help in many instances. It is currently atop my Pathfinder XR, where its furthest kill was 111 range finder measured yards on a grackle… 9.57” long and 18.8 ounces of small sweetness. I was going to sell my Pathfinder because it had a huge scope atop and it was heavy. That changed once I put the West Hunter on it.

AoA has a used 25 cal one on their website. Love my Pathfinder....Now do I need a 25 Atomic

Though I love my Atomic in .22, they are underpowered for the .25 caliber in my opinion. The platform is best suited to .22 and .177 caliber.

I really like the Westhunter scopes. I've got one on top of five different rifles. Just works for me without spending a fortune and looks clear. Side focus of course on all.
