yea i got the magpul gen3 adjustible stock because what i had was a little to short.
it has some weight so i am not sure i am going to use it. been thinking i might just take the one it came with to the shop toss it on the mill and fix it so i can add some leangth to it.
for me the folder would be nice because i could toss it in the seat of my buggy.

I'd do so much more tinkering with a mill; probably a good thing that I do have one! I'd go ape-shit redesigning all kinds of things (not on the Evol's, but with my other hobbies) with a 5 axis cnc at my disposal.

If I was still working in the machine shop I would make an AR buffer tube specifically for my Evol (and others) that would either have a quarter turn to lock/unlock or a detent ball that you slide a male into a female and voila’ the stock is short or long. It wouldn’t need to be a folders since I’m not a combat soldier.

A "little" project with some help from Tom (thanks much!) in the way of the new captive hammer/spring assembly and a probe for my P-EVOL project... a 177 comp pistol for AAFTA based pistol ft and EFT.

I'm still waiting on a new guage block as my early 1st gen one won't fit this new tube, but it still falls within rules. It sports a 12" barrel and this custom shroud. IF I had a Mini, I would have made the barrel 10" like they currently are but getting 20 ft lb is easier with this. It's quite competitive 😀 and a JOY to shoot...

Also fitted a 15" , 177 so I could use the factory tensioned shroud arrangement...

Had to make a whole new valve and custom hammer spring to get this down to 12 or 20 ft lb... Tom's is designed for high power and flows too much to get that low. It shoots quite mildly and is as accurate as any I have with just about any pellet. It gets a LOT of shots per charge but I've not counted so don't have a number there. I love this rifle and really wanted to compete some with it and ft has been my main focus over the years. It makes 12 ft lb @1400 psi w my short hammer spring and lite hammer and 20 ft lb @ 1700 psi with slightly longer hammer spring and lite hammer.
I also had reached out to Darko of Custom Mags about a 177... I didn't really want to make one and figured it will be a bit before Tom offers one. Well, Darko came through very quickly... talk about cutomer service... AMAZING...

Mags in 177 plus a single shot tray and loader. Mags work perfect..
Still shopping for a nicer grip.
Thanks again... Tom and Darko...

Nothing new here. Just getting my first love a look over before hopefully taking her out on her first permission this weekend. It's supposed to be low 20s for temp but little wind. She'd love to send some jsb 18s into some flying rats! (PIGEONS)

May take the paradigm too, I dno20240129_184748.webp

what is the atraction to the .17 cal guns?
i had have had pump guns that where .17 and i liked them because the pellets are every where easy to get cheap but the .22 are also. so why not get the .22?
just curious?

He's got a project going on building his .22 into a pistol for "a 177 comp pistol for AAFTA based pistol FT and EFT" where rules of caliber probably apply to the classes he's shooting in.

Most of my pesting shots are 45 yds or closer. I get more shots per fill & I like the challenge with a .177
I don't have a 177 currently, but a little Evol Mini HPS that would sling the NSA 20 grain needles at 980 fps would be a cool bird and small game hunting rig for sure.

There's a LOT to like about the 177. In this rifle, there is no vibration and very little movement @ 20 ft lb plus it's pretty quiet and the ammo is cheaper. Plus, it's every bit as accurate within its comfy range. It's like comparing a 22 rimfire to a 300 WinMag. Why would you want a 22 rimfire when it's not even in the same universe as the 300 for power or long range accuracy ?
As was mentioned above, I was using the P-EVOL comp pistol as an excuse to make mine a 177. It can go back to a 22 easily enough if there were a need. But aside from that, I really enjoy shooting accurate rifles or pistols and this one is that plus QUITE pleasant. I would have made it a 20 cal if it were 20 ft lb and over. 20s have been my focus for a while and the rifles have been just so pleasant to shoot. I put a 22 barrel on my Vet, a 25 on my Ghost, and a 22 on my Safari for some comparisons and would very much pick one of my 20s or 177s to plink or practice with daily. The shot cycle and ammo expense are the two biggies.
Having fun with it, regardless...

Decided to confirm my zero on the mini since it had been a while and it's got some actual work coming up Sunday.

First group is 5 in 1 hole at 35, (my zero is 45, thought it was 35 oops) using 4 power on my Athlon Helos

Second is 2 magazines at 35, and the 3rd is one magazine 11 shots at 55 yards. The two outside the ragged hole were all me.

Shooting off a bipod with a rolled up t-shirt for a rear rest.

God I love this rifle. Only a 10 inch barrel and so accurate.20240202_163528.webp20240202_163913.webp20240202_164141.webp20240202_165548.webp
