Just wanted to drop a line , New guy .... not so new, retired mechanical engineer in fact but new here.
I have had airguns my whole life , shot paint ball, owned not nearly enough but find them challenging and entertaining.

I am a one good gun guy theoretically, well really a minority here? I want one good gun and I want to get comfortable with it..
It is a goal and sometime I mess that up.

I have Been reading the forum for some time, so feel like I know a few of you even though I don't.

So I will ask a few silly questions...... thanks for your patience in advanced.

Welcome to the HAM Community! Don't worry, there are no silly questions. And if there are I have definitely asked them myself at one time :D

No dumb questions.... Ask away!

Welcome to HAM!
I am not a believer in the one good gun theory mostly because a rifle isnt a stall and a big bore isnt a small cal. a long rifle isnt a carbine and holly cow I want that. so best of luck with it going much father then theory.
I would also off if indeed it a good or better yet great or awoke gun I would recommend looking at AAA or BRK. these companies produce extremely nice quality guns.
my wifes has two BRK guns and I have several AAA EVOLs.
keep us posted on your thoughts and what you end up with and post some pics : )

Welcome to Ham. Honestly I do my best to keep my airgun collection minimal (currently 4) and rotate which one I shoot.
What airgun is this 'one gun' you speak of? Springer? PCP?

Welcome, ask so we all can learn.

Welcome to the HAMlet, looking forward to enjoying your journey with you. Curious to see what a one and done gun for you looks like. I enjoy variety too much to stick to one dance partner.
short answer
Feinwerkbau 300.... shot it at 45 yards , no problems shot straight. Wind drift was eventually too much for fun as I shot better.

Currently the original daystate air wolf extra FAC , with an installed regulator, .... the frustration it never shoots consistently . one day in 90 it shoots very well.... the rest the poi wanders with demonic glee. Being a retired engineer, the order of heavan dictates that I should " fix it " . A learning experence it is, and usefull airgun it is not at this point.
I have made many improvements , from redesigning problem parts and making some part to polishing and hand fitting.

I will not do another electronic gun, too much over head maintanence in the long term. batteries are expensive and annoying .

Soon to be retired or given away....

I shoot skeet and sporting clay, what I have learned there is that switching guns is/can be a problem.
I see people who have lots of guns , switch often and never are fully proficient ( defined as shooting their best) with any particular gun. It has to do with the sub conscious mind making adjustment ,lots of practice and shooting without conscious thought .

You will shoot better when you are not trying to think about compensating for each guns difference.

So that is the view point for the one gun theory.

How long have you owned that Airwolf? I really don’t know to make of electronics in Airguns, any insight is appreciated.

15 years approximately , the end of my career was vigorous and leisure time sporadic. It spent months at a time in the case in the closet, and when I pulled it out ultimately the battery was dead. I had an air arms 510 ex fac for about a year before it was stolen in a break in, bough it used ( another mistake ) with the insurance money.

Instead of a hammer it has a solenoid the trigger is extremely adjustable, believe it or not there is such a thing as too much" lite trigger" .

The power can be adjusted electronically as well , 15 power levels, but you have no idea what the difference between them is , so it can be very annoying especially when you are close to a good tune. AT least a spring is easy to replace and reasonably predictable.

It Sounds good, however long term is so much marketing hype and really just a bell and whistle. Great for marketing types to hype.

Last two years, trying to breath life into it again.
