The ones in my area hibernate-none seen above ground for months. BUT, an unusually mild winter, and now a warm spring, has them above ground already.
Spent about an hour today sniping them with the Ghost .20. Started with pellets and killed 6-8 but moved on to slugs when I realized the combination of them being skittish from minimal ground cover (long range only), and the wind, made the slugs the better choice.
Totaled out @ 33 dead dogs. Almost all were 90+ yards, with the furthest being 147. With gusts up to 25mph during the shooting, I felt pretty good about it.
These were a couple of the easiest to gather for a photo op. Head shots are usually bloody with these .20 NSA slugs, as they go clean through and make two places to leak from.
