Looks extremely well thought out, would expect nothing less from Tom! No doubt they'll be winners. Not my cup o' tea, just don't have the interest or need for slugs (& precious little access to the ELR where they shine).

Like @Madeintheuk, biding my time until a .25 designed to sling the King Heavies is available (preferably in one of those magnificent Steve Corcoran stocks).

Understand though, that a small company like AAA can't be all of the things to all of the people at once. Must... exercise... patience...

I guess the reason I’m speaking the way I am, is because Tom said there would be a 25cal option available before end of year. I guess I’m worried this is it. If it is, it’s not the 25 option I had hoped for.

Gotcha, the "patience" thing was directed at me . See how my phrasing made it seem directed at you though... my apologies!

Usually like to let a new model get through any growing pains before I jump on board, but would make an exception for a .25 EVOL in a purty stock. Doubt there'd be any teething issues & know that if one did slip through, it'd be crushed by the best customer service in the business.

Hmmm. 257 is disappointing. Was hoping for some options that can use off the shelf ammo. 223, and 257 leaves us with only a couple of manufacturers, and mostly in slug form.

Don't worry 25 caliber pellet barrels plans have not changed.

I appreciate the feedback! I feel there is some worry that these new guns are changing the direction of the EVOL away from its precise, simple, robust, pickup and shoot roots. While this is partially true, the new HPS is more complex and has more adjustable features, it still retains the same roots. Do not worry, the Original EVOL line is not going away and will continue its path of refinements with more barrel and tuning options while maintaining its simple grab and go appeal.

I think it's great! Gets people with both sides interested in the Evol. I love mine for my pesting that I do. No nonsense, BS, doodads everywhere. Grab and go. For a competitor that likes to tweak constantly in changing conditions though, not ideal. These new ones combine both the sheer ruggedness and no nonsense with the adjustability competitors love, while not have all these knobs and things to get bumped and knocked out of tune. Personally why I don't own externally adjustable guns now. But these look like nothing can get changed at all by a bump. The reg needs a allen wrench, the TP/valve adjuster a flathead screwdriver and the HS adjuster likely a allen wrench or something small to turn it. I like it. I'd get one if I didn't have my Mini already that suits me perfectly. No interest in slugs really for me, but maybe a longer barrel in .25 or .30 for my Mini in our windy season would be awesome!

The current Evol line up has pellet pushers already in a bunch of variations, I don't see any problem, I also think the .257 was a great choice in caliber for BC and distance shooting.

I get wanting all the adjustability the new HPS has but are us pellet shooting evol lovers really wanting to tinker/tune? I don't think so, I think its just the brain saying damn I want the new thing even though my old thing is just as awesome.

For the long distance shooting these are geared directly for , the on the fly tuning is 100% necessary due to possible hunting/competing at different elevations and temperatures where those things really can put a hindrance on the wrong tune when you're shooting 150+ yards.


Edit, I know what I am purchasing next, @American Air Arms I will 100% be ordering one of those BR/NLR in .257 (or .223, undecided at the moment I think ) but wow I am freaking excited.

i almost ordered one of the .30 magnons but i put it off for one of these.
did i misunderstand what Tom said when he said the barrels where swappable? if thats the case i dont see a issue?
or am i missing something?

.257 is one of the best calibers out there for airguns and long range shooting. For dedicated long range accuracy nuts, this is fantastic news.

I totally agree. It’s great news for long range. Those of us that barely break 100yds even at the range don’t necessarily care about the long range game. As long as us short range and low power guys aren’t forgotten, I’m totally fine with it.

The .22 Mini available now or any of the current production Evols fit that bill. They are just as good as they always have been.

I own the mini, and it’s my go to gun for pesting. I own an evol 30 18” that is for my coyote gun and possibly benchrest in the future. I don’t have a 25cal for my evol collection, and I’m jonesing for an evol that will shoot my favorite 33.95 pellet (which is cheaper than 30, has a better bc than 30 44gn pellet, and can produce similar power).

I’m impatient dammit!!

Yes you are correct. We are working with a particular 68gn. 68 is no accident, it is the max weight allowed by NRL22.

This was my next question. I was like shoot I want the 223 for nrl22 but this clarifies a lot.

Have been eyeing up nrl22 comps in MA and CT but don't have anything oriented toward it so this fits.

I understand the cost and quantity advantage of 25 cal. It is difficult to convince me that they outperform the 30 cal in terms of BC and accuracy. There are enough customers asking and we are accommodating; a new caliber is a substantial investment so we are going to do it right! Hopefully we can both be pleasantly surprised

I haven't owned a .25 in years. Had some bad experiences with a few and completely turned me off. I would love one honestly that was a guaranteed accurate one. Shoot the 25gr at times then the 34gr in windy season. Would be better than the .22 with the 25gr MRDs that are so hit and miss anymore. Then again I love a .30!

@American Air Arms I was curious if there were plans to add a detent to the cocking handle to hold the probe in the rear cocked position to help with mag loading? Sometimes when im trying to load mags into the mini the probe wants to creep forward enough to stop the mag. Not a deal breaker but it would be a very nice addition to an already wonderful pcp.

I'm enjoying my mini very much. Big thanks to @CTAirgunner! I'll definitely be ordering one of those .223s or .257s in the future! Keep up the great work!

I totally get the affection for .25 33.95 but I have never got it to out perform 44's or especially my favorite 50.15.
I think BC only tells part of story since. I think 50.15 is a consistent 1/2 MOA pellet with good gun & shooter. Sounds like AAA is doing a barrel in .25 soon so you can swap your .30 out in near future.

Ive been curious about the 50.15 but it seems most people get pretty lousy results from them compared to the 44s.

I think the 33.95 is an awesome pellet, despite the weight variations, in anything I have had that shot them they shot amazing, especially my old taipan long.
