Zeiss riflescopes and rings are now at Pyramyd AIR!
Anyone who is familiar with high-end cameras, photographic lenses, binoculars and more will know of this great German brand. Founded in 1846, it still has a reputation for the highest quality in precision optical instruments of many types.
Now the Zeiss Sports Optics Division has entered the airgun world with a small, but powerful, selection of products. These include two scopes with a choice of reticles and a range of accessory mounting rings.
Both scopes have a huge 56mm objective lens, combined with a 34mm diameter tube. Both have First Focal Plane optical systems, combined with a choice of MOA and MRAD reticles.
But primarily, both models make a special play for the long-range airgun shooter by incorporating a massive range adjustment for the elevation turrets. Zeiss claims this to be best in class.
As you would expect, both Zeiss riflescopes are extremely expensive. The S3 6-36×56 model retails for $2,499.99. It’s $3,999.99 for the S5 5-25×56 model. So what are the differences?
Well, the S5 5-25×56 model includes parallax correction down to 27 Yards, combined with a 5x zoom range and incredible 140 MOA/40.7 MRAD elevation range for those turrets. It’s also designed and manufactured in Germany and is the model shown in our heading photograph above.

The lower-cost – no-one could call it cheap! – S3 6-36×56 model has a minimum parallax-correction distance of 10 Meters (11 Yards), combined with a 6 times magnification range and a still-outstanding 110 MOA/32 MRAD elevation capability for the turrets.
Then there’s the rings! Pyramyd has a range of 30mm and 34mm diameter Picatinny rings available. All these have built-in bubble levels as an aid to accurate shooting. There’s either one or two bubble levels per set of rings.
