Just curious if anyone is doing any modding, or building, or refinishing any airguns this winter?

I'm starting to get interested in doing something but I haven't figured out what yet. I thought earlier that it would be one of the micro guns but I think that I am going to leave those alone at this point. I still want to see what the FX mini turns out to be.

My only other interest, since finishing my 250z, has been long range plinking. I am leaning heavily to using an FX Dynamic AR, as the start of my ultimate plinker. It has the most options for everything I want, while leaving out the stuff that I don't. It would be more of a scavenger hunt than a build, but could be interesting. I'd paint it too! lol

The only airgun that I know that I'm buying, this coming year, is the new Marauder, but that won't be out for a while. What to do 'til then? If I don't end up doing anything then I will get the G3 Marauder in .22, but if I start on a Dynamic then I will get the G3 in .25.

I need some motivation more than anything else I guess, winter is just starting.

Adding a C-88 valve to my Zelos also porting to .23. Made a jig of sorts out of 1/4” and 9/32” aluminum tubing (anazon) to keep 7/32 and 15/64 bits aligned for drilling. Only taken a few days for the project but too cold to test the results. 30’s next week so that’s encouraging. Also will probably change out pellet probe when available for .22. My Buster is arriving today - much to learn.

My TX200. Owned it for 2 years, absolutely HATE the trigger lol. Swear there is something wrong with it, my dad has suggested machining up a new blade for it, so im definitely game! Its far too set-back vs my new HW rekord. Too light & too sloppy. The gun lost significant power (almost 100fps!) in 2 years of moderate use. Got a full TBT kit and will be full gutting it and going over the entire rifle. Even contemplated pillar-bedding the front stock screws lol, but not a ton of proof that it will help accuracy, and the screws never got loose so may not bother. Super well made & designed gun and (was) very accurate so she's worth the time.

I really like doing the one-off jigs and stuff like that when they help me get somewhere that I couldn't do otherwise. Nice!

I can't believe that you said anything negative about the TX200, out loud, on a public airgun forum! Get on your asbestos flame suit. Just kidding, I hope! Good luck with it! I worked on removing the automatic safety on a HW once and it was the best thing ever. I only regretted not doing it sooner, while I owned it, and not my brother.

I have thick skin its fine. 🙂
Absolutely love my TX, it's a simple mechanical marvel with the nicest bluing and wood work ever. But....mine may have been a friday, just before a long weekend, put together (and maybe not set up correctly) airgun. Full write up and report will be happening on it!🤞
Hmm maybe in the process I'll figure out what's wrong with @Hoppalong Doc's TX200 as well! 🧐

I ordered a a Pinty Buster in .177 (Snowpeak PP750) a week ago. FedEx states that they never received it. If it does arrive, I have a list of things to do with it. I’m going to design and either print or machine a stock for it. Design and make some custom grips and maybe extend the lower Pic rail and add an Arca plate. I figure for $215, I can play around with it. I will refrain from looking down the barrel.

I painted a 25 cal flash qe. It's accurate to 40 yards, I haven't been able to go further. It shoots jsb 25.39 right around 890 to 860 for 25 or so shots and I thought they look kinda ugly so I did this. I'm missing the spacer that goes between the shroud and barrel next to the breech so I'm going to make one when I have a chance.

Nice paint job! How did you get that look? I thought it was a film when I first looked at it.

I sincerely hope that you get better luck with that then you have had lately. It looks like a great value and a lot of fun anyway.

I’ve set my criteria so low that it has to be a winner LOL. It just has to be able to put a group in a 3/8” circle at 15yds from a rest and I’ll be elated. Fingers crossed it holds air, I’ve already seen reports of leakers.

I did several base layers of tan then I wrapped it with string and vines from the fall veggies I tore down and sprayed one of the greens and then I used a brush and old sponge to blotch some colors in....here's the kids gamo rifle I did last week....since it's cold and I was bored. I think it looks better than just all black. I've got a mossy oak wrap but I haven't tried that yet.

So what made the list? Inspire. lol
1. Get P35 and Bullshark back operational, re-seal and adjust regulators. Try plenum in both, see if it helps P35 with pellets and Bullshark with its 177 slugs.
2. Rebuild M853.
3. Install carbon fiber shroud on PP750
4. Try and figure out random fliers with PP750. Polish all internals. Reduce size of plenum maybe.
5. Polish all internals of Chief II
6. Finish organizing everything. I started plastic ammo cans that contain parts to specific rifle parts. I need to finish this.
7. Finish pellet organizing. I have ammo cans for everything. Single tin new rifle test pellets, and bulk multiple tin for caliber. Have a spreadsheet of everything I have in ammo cans with identifiers.
8. Install Heartland trigger guard and bottle adapter on Zelos.
9. Cut lighter HS for my Notos and PP750 and try them.
10. Cut and test the springs I ordered to try with my Chief II for shooting tethered with regulator.

That’s what I can think of now, early on a Saturday morning.

That'll do! #6, and 7 make me cringe, the thought of organizing everything would certainly take a while!
