I made a fast flow valve for the rifle

Everything is hooked up and I did a few test shots. Things are holding air and looking good. Now to find time between choir and swim team practice to hit the range and do some shooting.

Also need to find how the bellview washers are stacked in the HUMA reg.

I have gotten two tins of the ACE slugs that I am going to test out with this set up. Planning on seeing how fast I can chuck a 42 grain slug, and see what accuracy I can get..... of course. Have a few others to try as well, but hoping these slugs work, then I can get a new die and make some of them as well.

Regulator went as high as 200 bar...and was playing with hammer spring. I did have to single load as the slugs were to long for the magazine. Only shot a few dozen as the heater in the range kept shutting off.

Talking with Kelly about the weight range the dies have the ability to make.

The target is showing 5 shots at 50 and at 100 yards. I did do some testing with the slugs I am making currently, and was able to make a large single hole at 50 yards. The rifle is about maxed out on velocity, so I either need another rifle....... or lighter weight slugs.

I just put in an order for the heavy size spring through RAW, and will end up playing with spacers. I WILL get this rifle up to speeds needed for the slugs

Little up date....was able to get the above slugs up over 980 fps! But the groupings were not good. I did have one group at 50 yards, 180ish bar on reg, that was great! But moved out to 100 and it fell apart. Looks like the slugs are spiraling quite a lot.

Going to give the rifle a good cleaning and wipe attempt again. I also have the old boat tail base I am going to make some slugs the same weight. To see if there is any difference in accuracy and speeds.

And a grouping at 50 from my buddies DRS Pro...with the same slugs. Two 12 round groups. Speed was around 950fps with a deviation of 2.3 and lower.

Have the barrel removed and it looks like the barrel is a 1:18 twist. Unless I am measuring things wrong

Is it a Lothar Wather? Bc then it is surely a 17.7:1 twist i'd think, is your Raw .22 or .25? Man those DRS slug groups look great, I watch lots of AirTac hunting, Matt D, etc, shooting FX pcps and slugs spiraling is quite common...and yet they'll often still hit the target. Maybe you got em going too fast now!?

Not sure the make of the barrel,was made by Martin when he built the rifle. Have been looking at different options, but there isn't many out there.

I went from around 800-960 fps and couldn't find anything that worked

Was talking with Martin and he said that he had made an adapter to fit the FX liner system. He said that he hadn't thought about making them again, so I tried to push him to see if he would. So here is hoping, but still working on a part to test, to see what I can do.

If anyone has any thoughts or ideas on where to get another barrel to test, or anything like that let me know! Willing to test things out if someone wants!

Ok a LONG over do update!!


Just got home from finally getting out to the range. Work has been awful and I needed a break, and thankfully the weather was decent with little wind. So off I ran while the wife and my daughter were out doing their things. So I grabbed the RAW HM1000x and a pile of slugs and some air, and a few targets. I had made a TON of ACE 40 grain slugs and I just didn't have the time to get around and do any testing.

I started off at 50 yards getting some tuning done, and ended with this rabbit out at 200 yards! The rifle is shooting great with the regulator up at 175 bar.



Here is the rifle FINALLY out on the range shooting. I was really hesitant about buying that regulator a year or so ago, but man it is a life saver. Yes they are expensive, but it makes tuning so much easier when you have to adjust on the fly. I started with the 33.5 grain slugs that I have made up for the FX King. And they were shooting well over 1000fps and really smacking the snot out of the steel. Though it was fun hearing the sound echo through the range and woods.



The look down the range. Right side of picture is the 50 yard berm, behind that is the 100 yard, and beyond that is the 200 yard. There is a 300 yard berm that is between the 100 and 200 yard berm. I ended up talking with some local turkeys and kept messing with them. Was a fun way to end the day at least


Life sized rabbit target at 150 yards. Just figured out where the dope was at 100 yards and just started throwing rounds. And to my surprise they were hitting with a respectable smack.



A few groupings at 50 yards, as well as the chronograph readings. Though honestly I am having issues with the original FX chronograph. It was really hit and miss with the readings so I may be on the look for a new unit.
