250Z I'm in the club boyz!

I tried quite a few and luckily for me I was shooting with someone who had a 0db110 in .22 and I tried that and it was lights out, no question the best. I normally only shoot oversized suppressors but this one had zero effect on accuracy and was (for some reason) the quietest. You have to try everything, so many variables, the biggest unknown in this sport to me. Good luck with your testing, it often comes down to that.
I've got the BRK 22 moderator on mine I got from Airguns of Arizona. Just a tiny bit bigger than the barrel of the 250z 22 and it's so quiet and looks good to boot.

I got the optic squared-up and tightened down. Still had enough light to get on target so I took advantage and fired the first rounds!

You guys were CORRECT..., this 250Z is damn accurate! Just straight out-of-the-box tune and the Barra was sending AEA 22gr into ragged-hole groups at 50yds! I mean, no shots that could be labeled as 'flyers'! I'm not even in tune with the rifle yet and it's shooting 'lights-out'!

Tomorrow I'll setup the Chrony and see where we're at???

As of this moment I got nothing but good to say about the 250Z!

Happy for you man as it's a great rifle! Enjoy.

Love the way you can setup your bench inside during the cold season too man. Stay nice and warm and slay the critters or the bullseye's anytime! Night vision for it next? Oh yea.

I was going to buy the BRK but they are out-of-stock at AOA. I couldn't find one elsewhere.

I bought an STO Falx. It's 40mm O.D. but the rifle seems to like it so we'll roll with the Falx.

Have any of your guys figured out how to get the rear stock off the buffer tube! I know the buffer tube is not AR15 compatible but does the stock slide off the Barra tube? No luck so far trying to slide it off.

Okay, figured it out. The stock isn't designed to pull-off the buffer tube. In order to get the stock off you have to drift the pins (2) out of the adjustment lever and the position locator rod (1). Once it's apart you can clearly see it wasn't designed to come off the tube in the fashion a normal AR butt stock comes off the tube.

I took it apart so I could fix the loose and sloppy fit of the stock on the buffer tube. That fix turned out to be easy. Two layers of 'Gorilla Clear Duct Tape' on the top and around the sides of the buffer tube was perfect. The stock still slides but with mild friction and there is no slop in the fit once you have it in the position you want. So nice.

Fired over the Chrony today. The AEA 22gr were averaging about 930fps with the factory tune. I expect dropping that velocity to about 900fps will give slightly better shot-to-shot consistency??? However, I probably won't change anything as I plan to move on to slugs once I am familiar and comfortable shooting the 250Z. At that time I'll start tuning.

Rifle is getting 38-shots from a 3650psi fill before going off the regulator. Regulator is set from the factory at about 2050psi.

The AEA 22gr pellets have a head size of .219" and I can definitely feel it pushing the pellets into the breech. I think the rifle might do better with .217" projectiles??? Time will tell.

So what i do, is hit it on the compressor, let it sit over night, and top it off back to 3650 in the morning.

The cool down pressure drop is a super real thing I am learning.

My .25, is an absolute monster with pellets at 912. It will vary to 911, 914, but it is, for my gun the perfect speed for the hades. Much slower, and I can watch the wind walk it. Much faster, and close range, I watch it corkscrew.

I highly, highly, and can't tell you how much so, recommend finding the right pellet for these.

I went through a tin of poly mags, crow magnum, barracuda hunter extremes, hunters, hades, hornets, Harper heavy weights, straight barracudas, and just grouping, barracudas were phenomenal, but the hades, the hades were truly exceptional.

I am waiting on seals, but now with the newer barrel, I will have to test them all again, because, maybe hades are no longer the magic ticket. Ill find out some time next week.

This is a full length, man's rifle..., all the 'bullpupions' should move along (har, har).

New kid on the block Heartland Airguns is producing a good moderator at a good price.
@Cpt_Willson is here on HAM.

I just got the .25 and .30 versions. Only tested the .25 so far but it is a solid backyard friendly moderator on my Niksan Ozark-TW .25.

It is a bit quieter than the Reximex Silent Force Long I had on the rifle. Which is good because the Silent Force was excellent.
The heartland air moderator is fire!! I had the .25 on the barra and I have the new .30 cal on my EQ build.

I honestly, having only 2 pcps now, really didn't realize just how small other ones got.

One coworker has a raider bullpup he carries in his forklift, I thought it was the same size and couldnt believe I didn't see it, till he actually pulled it up.

Three pcps I've seen in real life, my z, my sl30, and my coworkers raider. 😂

A dam fine man's pellet rifle. 🤣🤣🤣

Yesterday I did a lot of shooting and a little experimenting with reg and hammer spring. One thing I learned is that with the stock hammer spring no one should attempt shooting the .22 caliber 250Z with less than 22gr pellets. There is too much hammer spring for reducing the regulator (lighter pellets) setting. Even at the stock/factory reg and hammer setting, the hammer is slightly over-sprung.

If need be, I'll shorten the hammer spring but I think I'll be fine as I plan to go up in projectile weight and regulator pressure. Have some heavier projectiles in the mail so we'll get on with the most interesting part of having a new rifle..., the tuning part.

The issue that some have unfortunately had with their barrel's bore is simply not an issue with my rifle. Even less than perfectly tuned, the rifle stacks pellets at 50yds!

I am really enjoying the 250Z at this early stage of ownership!

I'm on standby with the 250Z until I get some ammo delivered. I've shot myself 'dry' on suitable weight pellets for this rifle. :)
It's taking way too long for shipments of projectiles. I'm kinda out-in-the-sticks so I am use to an extra day or two for deliveries but this past week has been bad for shipping times. I assume it's the bad weather across the East???

I have AVS slugs down at the post office. I can drive in to town in the morning and get those. Pellets..., still on the way.

I'll clean the bore today and prepare for some slug shooting tomorrow.

I gotta say, after seeing the 270z rifle the 'wind is kinda out of the sails' for me with my new 250z. :(

Today was first attempt at shooting slugs from the 250z in .22.

For my first slugs I chose AVS ELR slugs in 26gr, Dish, .2173". I wish I could report that the rifle just loved them and was stacking them but that wasn't the case. In fact, the rifle doesn't like that particular slug much at all.

I shot them at velocities from 890fps to 950fps. I stayed mostly at about 940fps. I was getting good low ES out of the regulator but the bore just doesn't like that particular slug.

I also tried the same slug but in 30gr. I quickly learned that slug is too heavy for what the 250z can deliver.

What I learned today was the weight range of slugs that are correct for the stock 250z. Considering the rifle's resources, I feel like slugs from about 21gr - 25gr is where I need to be.

More testing to come.

Yeah, my 250 .25 can absolutely wreck 28 grainers and lots of smaller pests at 25 yards, but for 35, and out, im seeing the shine on the 32 grains pretty good. Dont quote me, because im going 75/100 yarders this weekend, but will not accept anything over a 1" group, rifle completely immobilized in firing to remove the me element. I am exceptionally confident in 70 yards as is though, I just need to find its limit, and shoot until I can reach it.

Did quite a bit of tinkering with the tune today. The rifle really likes the AEA 21.9gr. They shoot well at about any velocity above 890fps but the real 'sweet spot' is 945fps.

Also fired the AEA 25.3gr from about 880fps to 930fps. The rifle does not like the 25.3gr at all. Pretty amazing how totally different the .25.3s and the .21.9s group from this rifle.

No further luck with the AVS ELR 26gr .2173" slugs. I won't shoot those again from this rifle.

Have some H&N 21gr .218" slugs ordered for next slug testing. At the very least..., if I can't find a slug tune that shoots with enough shot-to-shot precision I can always fall back to the 22gr pellets at a good high velocity.

My goal for this rifle is hunting rock chucks while on foot and shooting off a turkey seat using shooting sticks. Once I find the dens it's normally pretty easy to find a good place to sit, watch and wait that is within 75yds (or closer). Even if I have to shoot the .22gr pellets the rifle will have plenty of energy for humane kills! Accurate slugs would be preferable for better terminal performance but not mandatory for the way I will use this rifle.

At any rate, I have lots of time before Spring to work with the 250z and learn the rifle so no need to be impatient with a final tune and projectile.
