Midway got a new shipment of 250Z in stock yesterday. Only FDE color but that's fine by me.

In a couple weeks I'll have a Gen2 250Z in .22 with new optic, grip, etc.

First will be to check the rifle holds air. Next will be to patch bore and check with bore scope. If bore/leade,/crown looks dimensionally good then I'll pull the barrel and polish the bore. After that we'll adjust the trigger to a light, crisp, single stage setting.

Then the fun part starts!

I love getting a new rifle for a Winter project. The snow stays long here in the mountains.

At the moment, I have everything ordered for the rifle except the suppressor. The suppressors I have on hand are all smaller diameter than the air tube on the 250Z. I am going to order a suppressor just for the 250Z.

What brand & model suppressors are you guys finding work well with the harmonics of the 250Z?

Proudly made for Barra by Snowpeak

New kid on the block Heartland Airguns is producing a good moderator at a good price.
@Cpt_Willson is here on HAM.

I just got the .25 and .30 versions. Only tested the .25 so far but it is a solid backyard friendly moderator on my Niksan Ozark-TW .25.

It is a bit quieter than the Reximex Silent Force Long I had on the rifle. Which is good because the Silent Force was excellent.

the boss has mention he did not want 3d printed make it quick devices discussed on the forum. this my change as have the laws around moderators I am temperarrly delating these post and we will discuss the matter behind doors.
please take no offense but lets not discus the how to do's of these items for now.

thanks pan

And I just saw you got the fde! Dude, I really wanted that color. Im in the pnw, their veil cammo does absolutely nothing in the evergreen state except stand out.

Dilemma is, it does look nice, and id feel kinda bad cammo painting it. But I guess that's what back ups are for!

Congrats and enjoy your new rifle. I love buying from Midway as I get my orders within two days!

I tried quite a few and luckily for me I was shooting with someone who had a 0db110 in .22 and I tried that and it was lights out, no question the best. I normally only shoot oversized suppressors but this one had zero effect on accuracy and was (for some reason) the quietest. You have to try everything, so many variables, the biggest unknown in this sport to me. Good luck with your testing, it often comes down to that.

Out-of-stock already! I noticed the 250Z/FDE/.22 came back in stock at Midway on the 7th. I ordered it about 5:30am on the 8th. Here it is midday on the 10th and the rifle shows out-of-stock again already.

Damn, the 250Z is popular!

I keep banging out posts pointing to the fact that there are a bunch of sub $1,000 pcp rifles that are just damn good shooters.
250z is always one of them
And I do not own one.

Its a fan fave with my workmates, but its only cuz its the only one they've seen.

I can 100% guarantee they will be drooling when I drag in my sl30 to knock out the bobcat that keeps taking out the ducks at our sediment pond.

It is a awesome pcp(my first too) to start off with. It gave me all the learning ability by having a reg and h.s. that are easily adjustable. So I got to learn the basics, after asking a bazillion questions, and then full mod it(minus the plenum, for now) and yeah, shes a brick. House. Mighty mighty. 🎶

My 250Z .22 showed around 4:00pm today. I went to work patching the barrel and then checking the bore with the scope. I know this is going to sound contrary to what many have reported about the bore in their 250Z rifles but, my barrel's bore is damn near perfect!

The crown is cut perfectly concentric to the bore (I pulled the end cap out of the air cylinder). Its smooth with no burrs around the lands or grooves. The lands and grooves themselves have not one single 'chatter' mark. Not one..., really! The leade is cut perfectly concentric to the bore just like the crown. I can see no burrs at all with the scope! However, there is one minor defect. There are some very minor marks on the lands where the pilot rode while working on the breech end. The lands are not smashed and those marks are just on the surface. When I polish the bore tomorrow I expect the bore will come out excellent.

There is no choke in my barrel. There are no tight spots any place along the length of the bore or at the crown and leade. I pulled many wet and dry patches through the bore and pull tension through the bore is uniform and consistent from end-to-end.

I hope Barra has the QC issues resolved with SPA and that all the 250Z rifle barrels going forward will be like the one I have.

Yeah buddy! Be sure to slug it so you can find the perfect size for your barrel. That makes a huge difference.

Congratulations on your perfect barrel, it is indeed good to be lucky! I have seen some pictures of some perfect bores that really got me jealous, but they are certainly rare. I hope it shoots as good as it looks for you. Mine doesn't look perfect but shoots that way, so I'm happy regardless. They are really fun guns.

I've been working on the 250Z all morning. It's now 'coffee break' time. :)

Got the bore polished and it looks good. A little silicone grease to protect o-rings and the rifle is all back together.

Rifle valve sealed and took air with the bottle and then I finished the fill with the compressor. It's holding air perfectly so far.

I've been working on the trigger. I like single-stage triggers so I have the 250Z trigger functioning perfectly as a single stage. The first stage spring and the short set screw are out of the trigger as they are no longer needed. The long set screw is in place of where the short set screw use to be. Trigger can be adjusted from 2oz to more than 2lbs and is safe. The 'wall' is perceptible and breaks super clean. Problem is the safety bar will not function to block the sear lever if the trigger adjustment is set below about 1lb. However, it's an easy fix to modify the safety bar so it will function at my desired weight-of-pull (12oz).

Changed out the grip to one that is more vertical.

Still have to mount the optic and then will be ready for testing. Will start getting familiar with the rifle while shooting 22gr AEA pellets. Once I have the rifle all sorted and am familiar with it I will start working with slugs.

I got the optic squared-up and tightened down. Still had enough light to get on target so I took advantage and fired the first rounds!

You guys were CORRECT..., this 250Z is damn accurate! Just straight out-of-the-box tune and the Barra was sending AEA 22gr into ragged-hole groups at 50yds! I mean, no shots that could be labeled as 'flyers'! I'm not even in tune with the rifle yet and it's shooting 'lights-out'!

Tomorrow I'll setup the Chrony and see where we're at???

As of this moment I got nothing but good to say about the 250Z!
