Just a question out of curiosity. When jts and aea first came on the market my attitude was why these brands when JSB works just fine ? At that time if I recall they weren’t really any cheaper than JSB. Well that isn’t the case anymore at least for my applications so I ventured out. I shoot mainly .25 and .30. Now I haven’t really ventured into the 30 caliber outside of jsb as I have a bunch but as with 25 cal the 30 AEA pellets pretty well demolish jsb in price. In .25 the other brands do just as well and sometimes better and offer more variety. So the point of my rambling is to ask why would any of us shoot JSB anymore?? I probably won’t. When my stock is gone it’s gone and I will buy AEA.

I understand your thoughts. This is just my opinion, but I think AEA/JTS are the most accurate pellets in .30 and .22. Although the Norma .22 pellets are very accurate and they’re actually an RWS product and dirt cheap and discontinued. But, I will try to support as many as many of the long term brands that I can. Only because inter-company competition will keep the product development healthy. I’m not going to buy garbage, but most of them produce one or two selections that are good performers. I’m willing to bet, JSB is working hard to improve their .30 caliber pellet line. If they aren’t we will see AEA used by 98% of benchrest shooters. If that happens then we will all be worried that AEA/JTS has a monopoly and no incentive to improve.

I’m not going to box myself into one brand over another. To me it’s better to decide ammo selection based on its performance, cost and usage in each of my individual Airguns.
Me too. I bought into the hype over AEA and bought 10 tins of the 50.5 .30 because everybody said they shot better. Not in my Paradigm. So I'm coming at it from the other side and won't be jumping any more ships blindly. You've still got to test everything.

I agree with test for what works. In my experience so far AEA/JTS beats JSB hands down in the quality control department. I heard two different people at PAC discussing that they no longer sort pellets after switching to AEA or JTS. In my own experience so far, JSB are less consistent in weight and have a higher percentage of damaged skirts per tin. That is not the result of comparing one or two tins. The fact that the factory team shooters choose AEA over their own branded JSB pellets, speaks volumes. The additional fact that one of the same shooters chooses JSB for field target ,tells me that his choices are based upon performance, not sponsorship.

I have to agree. switching to JTS has cut my group sizes by more than half.
