Others Who's shooting Polymags?!

I shot Polymags in .30cal.
In comparison to .22cal pellets, these are monsters.

I have been looking for catastrophic hits on pest pigeons: glory kills, with pest birds popping, volcano crater size exit wounds, or BPE hits (body parts flying everywhere).

After failing to achieve such glory kills with the .25cal Polymags at 1000fps (56FPE), even at close ranges (15y) — a very nice AGN buddy helped me to a .30cal barrel.
So I set out to try my luck again:

I dialed the .30cal Polymags up to 944fps, for 88FPE.

Surely, this huge piece of lead would do the trick and produce glory kills....

Yet again, both I and the MLS pellet failed, even at 15y ranges. (MLS = most likely to succeed)

So, maybe I need a .35cal Mora? 🤔

⭐ If you have been able to achieve glory kills on pigeons, DO let me know the specs, plz.

(I know that smaller pest birds like Starlings are glory-kill'able, but in Peru we don't have those black buggers.)

The .22 does that on the invasive sparrows we get around here. Usually they split apart from the 30fpe outta my S510....a wing here, a leg there....The .30cal throwing a polymag @ 15Y isn't blowing them up?! Hmmm, I recall my brother hit one (pigeon) with his .17 HMR inside 50Y once....cut it cleanly in half!! The .22 polymags are on sale right now @ D&L but I must resist. I have enough med range .22 pellets already to last me years😊

Here's something fun I did last weekend. Was shooting groups with the TX200 and wasn't loving them so I switched to some penetration testing vs pop cans! I started with a wadcutter to set the benchmark and it stopped dead inside can #2. Definitely don't use these for penetration. Well only one .177 pellet matched that expansion/lack of penetration...the little 8gr polymag!!
All shot out of the 13fpe TX200 @ 28Y.
I recovered every single pellet, either laying on the blanket or inside a can. The 3rd can is dented as the energy-spent polymag tried to enter but failed to puncture...red tip fell out in can #1.
Alot of cans had to die for this😓😅
Not one pellet made it to can #5....i may replicate this same test some time but with a 19fpe Diana 350🤔

@Danman Ohhhhh, I see. You lined up cans in tandem. Were they filled with water?
Yes👍...I forgot to mention that. My TX should be shooting these pellets probably 900-750fps from lightest to heaviest as per the last time I chronied it, which it is due for since the (Tinbum) tune kit is definitely broken in now. 28Y away just seems to be about where the pests are at.

Edit: Nevermind. I see wet wood in one photo. That’s good penetration for .177.
Agreed! Its funny how non dramatic it was, shooting cans with my .22 pcs; cans explode, split from top to bottom, go flying sideways or skyward etc....this was all very tame.
If anyone has some pics/info of polymags in action in the bigger calibers, post it up here too👍.
