EVOL Who's gonna upgrade their Evols?

With what looks like the new adjustable reg kits and reduced cocking kits coming out in the near future, who's gonna get some for their guns?

I've been looking into maybe getting a different gun but everytime I shoot my Taipan or Evol I really don't need anything else. So I'm going to just upgrade my guns instead.

I will for sure get the cocking system, not sure on the adjustable reg kit but possibly also. I think the guns worth it.

The guns are worth it, and worthy as is. I am not adding anything that I don't have to, that doesn't actually change down range performance. The absolute fewest parts possible, the less that can go wrong. Yeah smoother/easier cocking would be nice, but not actually needed, same for the regulator. Once I set them, I don't change them, although I could see getting that to tune the gun and then when I have the reg where I want it, take it back out. That would be handy in that scenario.

I don't necessarily need the adjustable reg or the easier cocking. However I am looking at the additional power and accuracy of the new valve and slug barreled guns. I tinker with the pellet shooter's in an attempt at slugs for no real reason and no benefit other than it keeps me busy. With the Slayer, I just tuned it and shoot the hell out of it. I'm after that again to pound steel at long ranges; set it and forget it as they say. So along with the Slayer's, probably invest in the new 233 or 30 HPS he developed.

Oh I don't need them or think the guns really need it but I figure why not. The more i think about it i think I'd like the reg adjuster more as right now I have it set at 20fpe with CPHPs but would like to adjust at times to 30fpe when needed.

Here's a thought... Instead of thw adjustable reg, get a 15" slug barrel for that Mini instead. Knowing how they perform, you probably wouldn't need to adjust anything with the gun. The additional length would get you about what you want or more in pfe with a tuned slug. Simply switch barrels when wanting to change ammo according to the game your after.

I want to make some changes on my .30 but I m on the fence with rather its best to make the changes or get another gun.
I dont like the length but I need to see what is coming before even consider anything.

Changes, like going to a 15" barrel? The new Evol HPS sporting a 15" barrel is likely going to be equivalent to or have more power and speed than the original pellet shooter's 18" barrel, with slugs... I love the length and weight of the Magnon, (currently 7.5 lbs loaded) just not the power level.

If you want to try different projectiles at varying weights and find the ideal speed, the adjustable reg system is very much needed. I really like it.

I will probably get one for my 15” for this reason when they’re readily available. I’m fine with the current cocking lever situation.

The Paradigm is a great rifle, but wanted to get rid of it for something that can shoot slugs. Thus the ghost, but that also helps builds up the excitement for the new line of rifles coming out.

Tom builds great rifles and yes the wait is awful, but they are worth it.

You are right about the waiting. I really just want a light, svelte, hunting stock for the Paradigm and a .25 barrel, but it doesn't look like it will happen any time soon. It would seem to me that there would be a hell of a lot bigger market for that than tactical or target stuff, seriously, how many people do the high-speed low-drag shooting stuff vs. hunting and plinking? I'm guessing 1 out of 10, but I would like to know the real number. Obviously it's enough to pay the bills, but it certainly has me looking for alternatives. Truth is, I don't believe there is a better made gun, so I wait.

Quite a few Companies offer adjustable valves etc. For the most part AAA like a lot of others are “Hobby Businesses” therefore they are run more akin to a Hobby than a true Business Enterprise. Please don’t shoot the messenger here but any decent machine shop can produce the parts, on a scale of 1-10 they are barely a 3. Let the slings and arrows begin

AAA isnt a hobby business its just not on the scale of some of the larger bussines's but far from a hobby

No arrows, but it seems a lot of people believe that all machinist should be up to the space industry level. I have seen high end airguns and their machining and their strength and their lack of it. Discounting all of the uber-machinist out there making all kinds of extremely expensive stuff out of exotic materials, and for affordably and realistically priced consumer hunting airguns, AAA is at the top of the heap. I'm not looking for complexity, or cicuitry, or a 10m Olympic gun, but a tough and well put together one, at lower than gov't contract pricing. If in the grand scheme of machine work AAA is a 3, than their equivalent competition is even less and a 3 is what everyone else should be shooting for.

I’m itching to get a sub moa barrel for my mini. That’s all I really “want” right now. I like the lighter cocking system, but it’s not a deal breaker, and same with the adjustable reg. I don’t really tinker with my guns. I want them consistent enough to just grab out of the safe, and shoot. No matter how long they’ve been in there. The evol does that for me just fine right now.

That easy cocking system is amazing. I didn't think there would be much of a difference between the stock and the new version. But when Tom was gracious enough to let me play with the HPS 30 for a while the cocking was extremely noticeable! That alone is well worth the upgrade. The external adjuster is nice when you are tuning, but when you have things set, like you said, there is really no need to adjust anything. If there was a way Tom would be able to make a regulator like the Leshiy's use that would be great.
