What'cha doing air gun related today?

Well, I was watching a lot of videos on the Zelos, both the .25 and the .22. Mostly about shooting groups and tuning. Then I order the .25. If I really like it a lot, I will get a .22 later on. I am pretty excited about that. But I have been getting very frustrated with myself because I have noticed that my memory is getting worse and that is causing me to make more mistakes and get frustrated. It is like a vicious circle. They just put me on diabetes medicine as well as the bunch of blood pressure meds I have been on for my heart, so I wonder if all that stuff is contributing to my mental decline or if my brain is just turning to mush from getting old. Anyways I am very sorry if I am not always pleasant. I hope everyone is having a good day.
Sad to say it's a Club most of us join sooner or later and to various degrees. Don't sweat it, lots of friends here that understand. 👍🙏😉

I’m glad you got a Zelos ordered, i’m sorry to hear about your medical/medication issues. Hopefully it will get sorted out.

Chief55 we all get older and have to go through what that causes, we just keep doing the things that keep our minds active
like I did today, finally got out to 56yards, I sat the target a little further than i thought, but the ground was dry enough to drive on and almost no wind, couldnt ask for a better day to test on - so out came the striker and the rest of the pellets I have been waiting to test
Norma heavy gave me nickle sized group at 56y
H&N 21.14 in 5.52 dime size CtC
H&N 21.14 in 5.51 quarter size at best
Hades 15.89 and JTS 16.08 were both under a dime One ragged hole
other than cleaning barrel it is factory tune, waiting on chrono
and then it started raining again same for tomorrow
just take it one day and one shot at a time,

I am a diabetic couple with some other meds and it caused me some issue for a bit. but I did over time adjust, not what I was when I was twenty but not in a fog either.

It was my first day since the Cancer surgery to even go down stairs. Mounted some open sights on the T4E and shot some CO2 out of the Diana Chaser kit(last test before giving to granddaughter) The CVlife 3x9 x32 scope does just fine on that little thing.
Opened a bunch of stuff received over the last 6 months from members or my own therapy shopping.
Picked up a Blue Dot, just because I've never had one. And a 1800 lumens MLoc flashlight. I didn't even take the phone down to take pictures, I was just so excited to leave the Bed or living room.
Oh, and a couple electronic ear muffs came in from Temu, the ones they give me at the range just fall out, those little twisty ones.
Being I will need another surgery the wife is putting my Huben on hold. 😭 We just don't know from test to test what I'm dealing with.
But Urethra Cancer in very painful 😣

I'm not liking these flip up sights very much.
Might put that red dot and Magnifier on it and see.
By the way, even if the Wife is awake don't shoot these .68 calibers at 5:45 am in the morning, she is hot 🥵
The Temu Scope leveler looks and feels great.
The scope covers are almost to small.
Also have a years worth of splatter bursts off brands to open. 53 feet back to the table, 63 ft long basement.

My first time powder coating anything. My Airforce .20 groove diameter is .200 and all the slugs are supposed to be .198 and they seemed very small, so I decided to powered coat them with 2 coats and see what happens. I just measured theirs at .199 and mine powder coated with 2 coats at .204. I guess one coat would have been plenty, oh well will see what happens. I did some NSA 14.9 grain and some NSA 18.9 grains. My wife bought the toaster oven for me at a yard sale for like $5.

Never heard of doing that to pellets, have you shot them? Is that wise to do on a barrel?
They look so cool, can you imagine sitting down next to someone at Bench shooting and see there face when you whip out those babies.
I have shot some Exploding pellets from Edgun and was partially impressed 😁 😅
The Blue Matches my Car, I need a set of 1 round nose, 1 wadcutter , hollow point, and a slug. And one of my existing Hot wheels display cases will work.
.177 is great!
Now I want to do it. How much was the paint?
Do they still make the Glow in the Dark powder paint?

About $14 for 8 oz. It doesn't take much and it is really easy to do. Search Amazon for glow in the dark powder coat, they have a bunch of them, all different colors, for making fishing lures. This is what I used. Lots of good how too videos on UTube. Some work better than others, Eastwood is a good one.

I feel your pain......recently had a procedure done to try and correct an urethral stricture caused by radiation treatments for prostate cancer. Got my fingers crossed.....so far I'm doing better than I was before the procedure and the cancer still appears to be in remission.

Well, I took the time to clean the barrel on the Zelos and I pulled the Zulus from the Notos because I have not seen any rats in weeks at the chicken coop and put it on the Zelos. The Zelos now weighs 8 pounds and 12 oz with the Zulus on it. I can live with that. The balance is good. I got the .25 because I plan on using it for squirrel, rabbit, and racoon hunting this year. My wife made this possible and in fact most of the toys I have is because of my wife sharing her winnings with me or just telling me to treat myself. She plays the scratch offs and when she gets over $500. she splits it with me and if she gets something like $5000, she gives me $1000. That's how I got this gun she won $5000 and gave me $1000 for my toys so I got the Zelos and a few other things I needed, and I put some way to help get the next gun.

Speaking of chicken coop, getting the gun ready made me late getting out to the chicken coop so I thought I might have a flocking riot on my hands, but they got over it once they got their treats. I call them my walkie squawkies.

Now I am going to air it up so I can shoot a little in the morning.

Played with sights, and ended up mounting my crossbow scope on the Dragonfly after I found it would not work with the Sheridan like I'd hoped. Went out into the 90+ degree heat to try and sight in. Thought I had it then things started going crazy. Not sure if scope, pellets, or rifle since all untested...

So swapped to irons on the Dragonfly and set to rough sighting at 25 yards that way. Still not sure if gun or pellets, but linkage had turned stiff so going to give it a good servicing before returning to testing.

Did some more scope pair puzzle work. Currently have the crossbow scope on the Vapor Max to test the scope, its previous scope on the Sheridan, and 4x32 from my Sheridan on the Dragonfly. All have easy and clear sight pictures now. More testing to come!

So last night when I aired up the Zelos I had a glitch. Seems that the Quality Control is a little bit lacking on my gun.

First the regulator is supposed to be factory set at 2000psi according to the manual, so as I was putting the air in and my eyesight is really bad up close, so I was mostly focused on the tank pressure, and I glanced down and the reg pressure was about 3200-3300 for a 3000-max regulator. So, I stopped and bleed off all of the pressure. That freaked me out because I was afraid that the reg might be damaged.

Second, luckily, I had watched a ton of videos on the gun, so I knew how to adjust the reg and had seen where people had said that the instructions in the manual are backwards. Yep, they still are. So, I turned the screw CW all the way in to close off the reg and refilled the gun and when it got to around 3000psi I started to open the reg CCW and brought it up to 2000psi. The manual says to set the reg between 500-2000 but it is a 3000psi reg so many people go to 2400-2500 for heavy 34 grain pellets and slugs which I will probably do later. Just want to shoot 25 grains for now.

Third when I got up in the morning, I noticed the pressure in the main tank had dropped a couple hundred PSI, so I made some soapy water and sure enough the tank was leaking where it screws into the gun. So, I loosened the barrel band and removed the tank which continued to leak after it was removed, only faster, that is not supposed to happen either. So I put a couple of drops of silicon oil on the tank seal and a wiped clean the manifold Oring and put a drop of silicon oil on that then screwed the tank back on. The next leak check with soapy water was good so I moved the barrel band back into position and tightened that down. Hopefully when I shoot it this morning there won't be any more QA problems.

With all the pressure that leaked, I guess I will refill the gun before I shoot it. The good news is that the reg held its pressure the whole time.

Shot the .25 Zelos for the first time. Everything seemed to work perfectly, and the regulator worked great and seem very consistent. I set the reg at 2000psi and filled the gun to 3600psi, I got 43 shots around 870 before it fell off the reg. Being used to Airforce guns I have to admit that seemed really weird but awesome. With it being the first time and sighting in the scope I just shot at 30 yards this time. It was completely backyard friendly with the Buckrail on it. For the JSB 5 shot string standard deviation was 5.6.
