What'cha doing air gun related today?

I only get pellet pistols, and I lean towards the German-made for better accuracy/quality. Baretta or Walther replicas under Umarex are pricey, but I bought mine used from AoA.

I pulled the trigger and bought it. I own a first issue .44 magnum Desert Eagle, I bought way back in 1986. LOVE that gun! It started me on collecting Desert Eagle airguns. My favorite is the German manufactured Umarex Desert Eagle, it's a full blowback, semi-auto, all metal .177 cal pellet pistol. Very accurate and powerful, eats CO2, about 3 rotary mags per CO2.

My second favorite is a Daisy, yes they made a BB firing, partial blowback, CO2, Desert Eagle replica pistol. It's called the Daisy Model 400. It's a blast to shoot.

Both these guns are highly collectable and I hope this new Magnum Research Desert Eagle will be as much fun to shoot.

On a side note KWC manufactured 1911 replica airguns are incredibly entertaining to shoot and operate. Physical size, weight, blowback, dropout magazine and teardown all accurately represent the characteristics of a real, powder burning 1911. Great training tool and plinker. Pew-Pew.

Coco Bolo handle? What steel?
It is supposed to be the stabilized wood with S90V steel. Then, I was informed that Benchmade does not offer or send seconds out for sale. So, I may have fallen for a fake. If so, such is life. It is a decent fake, in my humble opinion. Good enough for what I would do with it. Lemonade out of lemons.

I was messing around in the airgun room looking at my Desert Eagle collection and found this unopened Baby Desert Eagle BB gun in the closet!

Can be very tough to spot a fake. Here’s three knives, one of them is a clone.

One knife and box says made in Japan.

One knife says made in America, box says printed in China.

My first time powder coating anything. My Airforce .20 groove diameter is .200 and all the slugs are supposed to be .198 and they seemed very small, so I decided to powered coat them with 2 coats and see what happens. I just measured theirs at .199 and mine powder coated with 2 coats at .204. I guess one coat would have been plenty, oh well will see what happens. I did some NSA 14.9 grain and some NSA 18.9 grains. My wife bought the toaster oven for me at a yard sale for like $5.

Yes, that would be very difficult to tell.
It’s the middle one.

The big clue is that Spyderco is not spelled with a zero, also the blade has a very sloppy grind, which you didn’t see.

But if you held it in your hand and you looked at over carefully, there’s a chance you might be able to spot it.

The box is the other tell tell,(and often the easiest way to spot a fake) scammers don't spend much money on it and if you’re at a booth and they don’t present it or you’re buying it from someone who doesn’t have it, I would be very cautious.

If it’s VG-10 steel I will eat my hat 😂.

WELL? Which one is the clone? You can't just say that one is a clone, post their pictures, and then not tell us! Man, that's clickbaiting big-time, lol. The one all the way to the right would be my guess.

EDIT: Whoops, my bad, I posted too quickly, thanks for the reply!

This morning I shot the Daystar again. Used the same target plate that I showed on this thread yesterday. I just flipped the plate over and used the remaining target spots. Same distance, same 5-shot groups.

I thank my 'lucky stars' every time I fire this rifle that I got a good barrel out of Turkey.

You can see why the ground squirrels hate this rifle!

Took the Max 1 .25 and LCS SK-19 out on our land. First we filled in the wash out around a building. It was an hour and a half of wheel barrel, shovel and tamping under the foundation. Then I shot for an hour or so. Sk-19 with aea 50.5gr, NSA 49.5gr. and aea 45 gr. The Max 1 shooting jsb mk2 33.95, aea 29.5, H&N barracuda 30.86 gr. Didn't adjust regulator staying at 135-140 bar MK2 at 840, aea 29.5 at 890 and barracuda 30.86 at 880. The aea 29.5 9 shots hitting the center paddle every time, the barracudas did the same. 55 yards out. The chrono stopped working(I need to bring a shade with me, I realized as I was shooting) when I shot the sk-19. I got 1007, 1011 with 50.5 gr. Then the chronograph stopped working. Hard to tune a new gun without speed readings. Fun time though!

Those AEA 29.5 and the JTS 29.63 have been the best shooting pellets in both of the .25s I've had. (y)

just hitting my impact plates, its raining here all week
i guess im lucky i just step out the kitchen door and that is my bench, under the carport so the rain doesnt stop me
took the avenger BP2 out yesterday .22 its a good shooter -just bulky but hitting everything i shot at

The first part of this hurts my Naval heart.

What brand powder are you using? Yours seem to be coating more evenly than mine. I bought some brand off of Amazon. I know I should’ve waited for a better brand. I’ve only done .30.

I used Eastwood HOTCOAT Ford light blue. They say the secret is to swirl them in a bowl at least 50 times. I had only done it about 20 times and was not satisfied with the coating at first, so I did it 50 times and then it was great, nice and even. I will swirl it around in the bowl with powder at least 50 times from now on, seems like a lot but really it goes fast and the results are well worth it.

This will give me lots of new bullet choices, say like with .22 my groove size in the Airforce barrels is .221 but all the ammo is .216, 217, 218, .219, way too loose. AVS makes .2213 and VK makes .223 that can be sized to .221. Of course, a choke adds about .002 at the last inch of the barrel but that's a lot of blow by and wasted air on the way there.

I did this to fill in the extra space and to lube on the way down the barrel. I don't care if the choke rips it all off on the last inch of travel. I just want it to get me there faster and with less air.

Pellets are fine the way they are; this is just a slug issue.

Yeah, everything I read or watched said to use Eastwood powders. I swirled mine in a polypropylene bowl.
