Really happy with them. I need to shot more on paper as it was pouring with rain, but they were shooting very good. Going to stretch them out beyond 100 next week end since I have a great BC numberAnd the conclusion is?

My problem is it's peach tree in the front yard by the road, on a cul-de-sac.Did a 30 yard sight in with my Bullshark and 10 gr Mk3 Knockouts. That's the distance from the back door of my garage to the pear tree the squirrels decimated last spring.
Nice numbers!Testing Zan Hyper Line ELRs in the pouring rainwith the Ghost and LW 28 inch Slug Barrel
I just decided yesterday that these slugs are going to be my long range goofing off solution. I'll be able to see them w/o having to get a $3K scope and they are still way cheaper than Alteros. I like their cleaning properties too. I'm really interested in hearing how they do for you, long term. What's your barrels twist rate? Mine is 1 in 16", and I will post when I try try them too.Testing Zan Hyper Line ELRs in the pouring rainwith the Ghost and LW 28 inch Slug Barrel
They are some aggravating pests for sure. If you had a safe shooting lane you wouldn't have to worry about these mk3s passing through. They expand like crazy. My problem is it's peach tree in the front yard by the road, on a cul-de-sac.![]()
I could shoot downward from upstairs window... then ground is the back stop. They are some aggravating pests for sure. If you had a safe shooting lane you wouldn't have to worry about these mk3s passing through. They expand like crazy.
I think it is 1 in 16 as well, the test so far with the slugs was really good, next weekend I will be putting paperI just decided yesterday that these slugs are going to be my long range goofing off solution. I would definitely try a heavier spring first because it is quick and easy. Between the barrel length, and the reg setting, I would think that you should have more speed than that, 4.2mm is small though. You made everything else bigger, open that port up to match the rest of your work, and then you might be able to turn the reg down. There's no one right way, have fun experimenting.Off early so I re-aligned 600mm fx barrel on my Umarex Notos and I got between 860-850 fps vs stock barrel on Norma heavy 17.6gr. But the stock barrel is 11.75" versus 23.625". It's a 25-30 fps improvement on the stock. My notos has a 60cc plenum, hammer weight, regulator is at 2300 psi, ported to 4.2mm. I wonder if I need a heavier spring for valve dwell time. Seems like I'm running out of air maybe. I don't have a bore scope but I measured and marked to make sure I am dead on with barrel to port alignment and new o-ring for the pellet probe installed. The outer barrel o-rings look perfectly fine. Porting to 4.5mm is a thought but I'd like to wait. The math ain't adding up. Or bump the reg up a hair and see? The internal reg is a pain to get to inside the air tube but manageable....Edit: some Notos guy on AGN said to lower the pressure and if see some results.
I do switch mine up but not by the season but by distance, AEA 357 challenger 50 -140 for wood chucks and 50- 100 for coyote and for my Texan .308 woodchucks 140 plus and coyote 100 -130 yards.Today, it's more trigger time shooting on the bench with my rock chuck and ground squirrel rifles. Wind is bad all day so I know good groups are not going to happen but I can still get that all important trigger time.
I don't know if you guys use your rifles like I do, but I switch-up rifles depending on the time of the season. During Spring & Summer I am staying with my 'vermin' rifles. During Fall I am on my 'coyote' rifle. Winter I am on my bench shooting rifles.

This looks really good! What's the highest fpe you have put into it? And did you get pass through on boards?I have been shooting my big bores more often lately and after years of wear and chipping the center of my backstop was almost halfway worn through. I decided to add another layer of 4x4s were it gets the most wear. The totes in the picture are full of dirt but have really not been needed just over kill. This time I used deck screws rather than nails so it would be easier to replace individual 4x4s.
